What is it with people saying they can't do something?

    Without even trying.

There have been countless times where I suggested for somebody to do something that may benefit them, or wanted to show them something and they reply with "Oh, no I can't do that. It's too hard".

    Come on now. Seriously?

Whether it be professional acrobatics or making five bucks online nobody can do anything until they have legitimately attempted it. That means doing more than half-assing it once and claiming it can't be done.

So, unless you have some type of mental or physical impairment that limits your ability, stop saying you can't do things! A much better alternative would be to say, I don't know or I'll try. There's nothing wrong with not knowing, but being lazy, ignorant and not willing to learn is unacceptable.

Moral: Don't try to save face by refusing to do something that you might fail at. Do something that you will fail at and learn how not to fail again.

    Discuss.

Well, it's either they are scared of failure OR they are just plain lazy.

I remember I had a classmate whom begged me to teach him about mmo.
I told him clearly that I would not spoon-feed him since it's not my style. Instead I will guide him. He was excited, but somehow reluctant to digest the information I've given him. Later, he gave me the most absurd proposal, "Why don't I pay you $500 and you do everything for me? Then every sale you will get like 20% of the profit."

I said no because he needs to learn the basics. And why would I want that kind of proposal when I could be banking the full 100% commission? He then gave me gibberish reasons like, "I am very busy and don't have the time." But I always see him putting up new photos in facebook of him surfing at the beach and dating his gf. Wow!
I decline to further hear his reasons and told him to learn.
Then I gave him the list of things he needs to study and even gave him my login details to watch those webinars to learn about SEO from scratch, and many more. Then I explained the many ways he can earn from online such as PPC, affiliate marketing like CB, CPA, .etc.

    Guess what?
The very next day I saw him again and he said he learnt a lot. I asked what has he learn. He stopped for a minute and told me exactly the things I've told him. He did not read any materials or watch the webinars as I told him to.

Then later that night, he asked me about his proposal again. He said this time he is willing to give me 30% of the profit for every sale he makes. I said no then he boldly replies, "Well, I know you're restricting yourself from people like me. But my proposal is benefiting both of us." I again said no. Then he gave me the most absurd reason that I ignored him ever since. He said, "Can't you just accept the deal? Even if you scam me, I'm at the losing edge not you."

    Negotiation fail.

For my case, he's just plain lazy. He reads up "Rich Dad Poor Dad" book and starts preaching others and kept telling others he will succeed, but he is lazy to work for it.

That's exactly right. The amount of people thinking the world owes them something baffles me!

I remember a BHW member said a quote. It went something like: "When you have success, others will look upon themselves and ask where's theirs? So they want to have a share of your pie because they think they are part of your success."

i think it has to do with superiority. it's just another way of saying thank you, but no thank you.

working online is like working in mining. a huge burden that people consider a low grade of life. (even tho there's big cash in it)

about the fella that was trying to do a deal with you on 20%, he thinks he's superior, therefor he only wanted you to think your friends with him, so he can then rip you off giving you 20% of your work .. lol

narcisistic personality with very low iq : ))
what a dumb ass he is

I mostly believe that if sb does not pay anything to learn, he will not be willing to go further.

That's right, although this doesn't even specifically apply to making money online, some people will decline anything if it's not handed on a plate to them.

I can't be bothered to read your post .. Somebody read it to me?? lol

But yea, i know people like that too, i just ignore them! Besides, its not exactly easy to teach someone who knows nothing about something! My friends are always begging me to teach them about what i do, saying they want to do it aswell, so i once spent the time to explain in class, a full 1.5 hours of explaining CPA and methods of promotion, and afterwards they just said 'sounds cool'

Some people WANT to learn, and some people THINK they want to learn!

Why are ppl so obsessed with failing ? "omg im going to try this and Im going to fail!! what a tragedy! " its like someone is even going to notice. what are they expecting ? to succeed from the first try? me - Im trying things just out of curiosity, to see if they work. Im testing so if it doesnt work - i got a result from a test and not a failure. Like OP I dont understand those people
