I am back to Twitter after a long time break. I have unsuspended some of my accounts whose total follower count is over 200k and I am posting my own website links now. Based on my past experience, my pageviews should have been increased to a good level but something is obviously wrong. In the first day, only a few tens of visitors came from twitter! I know the change in twitter home page algorithm but is it so bad? It seems my accounts are all ghosted. Is there any way to overcome this issue?

    Here are what i do;
    - No follow or unfollow (I used to follow two years ago from now)
    - Just tweeting and deleting from bottom
    - I post my advertisement links in every 1.5h and they stay 12h in average.
    - I also post ordinary tweets without any links randomly and I dont delete them.

I appreciate for your further informative comments and suggestions. If I can't make it work then total of 3m followers (In hundreds of accounts for sure) will be nothing more than thrash.

I miss the old & good days :D

Is the long time break counted in years?
May be most of the followers no longer use twitter.

I'm tweeting from much smaller accounts and pulling traffic just fine, so you either got ghosted - which is easy enough to find out by searching for your posts from another account and IP - or possibly most of your REAL followers ditched out. If you built these accounts with #followback or similar approaches, or used exchanges then you likely have almost no real followers on those accounts, and that would manifest in virtually no link clicks.

You have good authority with those accounts based on their size, so now might be the time to consider promoting a strategy that only brings real new followers. If you look around the BHW forum you can definitely find some threads with advice about strategies for generating real followers. It may be a lot easier to continue to build those aged accounts up to a higher productive level. It seems to me if you're getting any clicks that aren't bots from twitter then it is unlikely you are ghosted. So either your followers aren't real, or your using terrible post templates for the modern era, and your clickthrough rate could be suffering as a result.

I think you'll get to the bottom of it soon. Just poke around a bit and see if you can figure out what is going on. It's hard for us to help without more information.

I lost hella followers too, and Twitter is having some Extreme Drop rates right now.
    I went from 112K to almost 90K.

    My followers are still dropping.

Also this is what I think is happening based off how instagram changed their whole look, instagram is associated with facebook.

So twitter prob saw the new instagram lay out they then wanted to meet up to their own standards,
Ghosting hella followers, and clearing out fake profiles.

with every downfall comes a rise so I believe that the twitter platform is prob going to grow.
they are migrating with new changes and most likely working on new things to make twitter more mentionable.

I know i have real followers among them since 8 months ago everything was fine. Btw, my time break is 8 months. It couldnt be that all of my followers left twitter in such a duration, right? Besides, i used to search with niche related keywords to find and follow people for a long time. I have never used neither of any #followback hashtags, exchanges or buy-ins. So, i think it is not about my followers most probably.

About the link advertisements, i used to post a title followed by url link attached with a photo. Everytime i do this. I know some of my advertisement links or photos may not be attractive as the others but there is a uniform distribution due to random selection. Only the change is that my content is new compared to 8 months ago. I also suspect with the domain. I still use same domain name for my website which all of my accounts had been suspended while posting links.

About ghosting, i did not know the ip issue. I logged in from a fresh new account in same pc, followed a few of my accounts and saw that they are tweeting. Just fine. But here i have a question. My new test account is not following any else except my real accounts. If this test account had 500 followers like a normal and ordinary one managed by real human beings would i still see the advertisement links in home page?

It seems that Twitter may be marking your links as spam. When users trying to click them, they get a spam warning, most likely.

By the way, how much traffic would be normal for you?

I used to get at least 15k session (~4 pageviews per session in average) in a day with 3m followers. But this was the total count of multiple websites. Otherwise, it would not be safe to drive all these twitter traffic into just one website.

Btw, i checked that my links are not marked with spam warning on click.

Update: Last night, i implemented a retweeting scheme such that a randomly selected account tweets and all my other accounts retweets with %30 probability. I do this in every ~2 hours. Now, i check those retweeted links from analytics and they are the most visited ones. Somehow, i managed to reach my followers but it is only 160 session with 5 pageviews per session now for today. (5 hours left to end the day in my analytics settings). Compared to the my previous statistics, it is just so few even if i mostly do the same things.

However, a few of my accounts seem to be locked for spamming right now. I think this is because of my aggressive posting of links and retweeting scheme. I normally dont like this but i just want to figure how things going on anymore. For the new updates i will write again.

I am getting closer to believe in that my followers are not active anymore. I also accept that my new content is not as attractive as the older ones. It is classic viral galleries like buzzfeed or viralnova. Anyway, this is the only explanation i found.

Okay, now my all accounts are re-suspended again. ;)

Anyway, I have lots of accounts. Still continuing investigation.. But in a less aggressive style for this time.
