I'm new, I've got 3-4 good sites making small amounts of money (about $10,000/month) and I need some tips on what will get me banned and what won't.

    Some examples:

    linkwheels
    forum posting
    profile links
    articles
    buying links in mass
    etc.

Any tips would be good. If you private message me, I may not be able to reply because I haven't posted 15 times, but I'll get back to you as soon as I'm allowed to private message or you can reply right here on my thread if you'd like to.

There is no Black hat nor White hat SEO.

I prefer to think in terms of effective and ineffective SEO (note: ineffective SEO can either produce no results or could produce a long term negitive result).

As for what you can get away with.... Do what everyone else has done and run some tests. Buy some domains and run the techniques you have mentioned above.

PS> I dont belive your figures, people making 10K/Mo on a small number of sites know how many sites they have, they dont need to esitmate in the vacinity of 3-4. Fuerther more anyone making 10K/Mo doesn't need to ask if they can use a link wheel or forum posting as a viable safe technique.

What exactly is your question OP? Get banned from what? You must be more clear. And also, what exactly are you trying to accomplish man? It sounds like you don't have much of a plan for yourself so please enlighten us.

As for my sites, I'll share them with you... just google weightlosswars, that's one, as for penny auction google pennyauctiononline, as for my revenue, those 2 sites make more than $10k/month together, but I have new sites, too... such as pennysites org and I just bought a site called stockrumors that brings in about 3k but I only own half. I can say that I have never used any linkwheels and I have only recently started doing SEO because the sites I have were grown very organically without optimizing. I bought most of my sites.

yeah I don't have much of a plan. I'm new. I just want to increase traffic right away. I want to really focus on the "low hanging" fruit. I don't have much of a plan because I'm new to SEO. I have real money coming in right now that I don't want to lose but if I can increase traffic easily with linkwheels or articles, I'm curious which I should use to get the fast results without losing my current google rankings.

    I guess my question is:

    1. What is the best way to increase traffic on sites that have been up for 6-10 years and are making money.
    2. What should I avoid so that I make sure I don't lose my current rankings.

Well for the sake of this thread lets divide blackhat into 2 sections:

SUCCESFUL BLACKHAT - GREAT RESULTS, no PENALY
Fail blackhat - they're smarter then you, think harder

Blackhat works for the out-of-the-box thinkers, if you consider yourself one, use something so you're unique, that's the only way you know there's no footprint.

If not, as there are people like this as well: white hat, or gray for a bit of automation, but still worthy

Blackhat always works if done correctly (the ways shown on any public forums aren't the ways it should be done btw, maybe one or two but that's all)
