Generally speaking, what is considered a decent amount of traffic strictly from SEO? 500 uniques a day? 1000?

I know the niches vary, keyword search volumes and blah blah blah...but in general terms, when can you sit back and say "okay I'm now a successful SEO"...

we're all looking for that point where we can label ourselves a success and was just interested to know where others consider this point to be...

what do you say?

You can sit back and say "okay I'm now a successful SEO" even before you get the traffic. :)
There are countless examples on the Warrior Forum.

Jokes aside. Its not about traffic, its about money. There are niches where you can get 10,000 uniques a day easily and earn a fat 0.

lol nice. So if it's about the money at what income level can you sit back and say I am a successful SEO? 500 a week?

I guess this question is highly subjective but just wanted to hear people's personal opinions.

lol nice joke though

You are a successful Marketer if you convert 3% of your traffic into them benjamins.

well I guess that leaves me with massive room for improvement then. Are you calculating micro conversions into this standard?

I have 1 website that makes hundreds a day off 50 or less visitors every day. I have another website that is getting 850 uniques a day and making me all of 28 cents. It is about conversion rates and product price, not traffic.

hmmm this is interesting......I'm in ecommerce myself and struggle with generic linking...

would you say it's better to focus your linking more for general broad terms for homepage links or focus on specific product search terms for product pages, for example "Sony DGX100 Camera" Instead of say "cameras for sale online" for the homepage.

The product / brand / model would obviously convert much higher correct?

It depends on niche. For example with 500 uniques in pharma you will earn $250-$500 per day. With 500 uniques in adult you will earn nothing, but adult traffic is much easier to get.

It's not about amount of traffic, it's all about money. You'rre a successful SEO if you earn money. The more you earn the more successful you are.

250 - 500 a day in pharma...would this be an affiliate site you are talking about?

Traffic is irrelevant, money is what counts. Nevertheless, anything that is getting less than 50 uniques per day without SEO is generally not worth SEO-ing. But obviously that's niche dependent

Regarding IM. Sitting back and saying I am comfortable is not an easy task buddy. Daily each hour, minute and second several updates are flowing. How come then we can be comfortable by being out dated.
SEO is like now Vanishing from the Digital Marketing by Google. Because during the early period link building was in the peak, now it is spam, then content marketing was in the peak but now it spam.
What ever work that you related to SEO, will give a gift of NEW GOOGLE UPDATE(Penguin, Panda, Humming Bird.....). The only way to have a comfort zone in SEO is to kill the Google Spam team or Google need to support SEO.

I don't know man that all sounds pretty doomy and gloomy, but I can see as to why you might be inclined to think that way...

Any amount of traffic is good as long as it converts. So even 5 visitors is decent if you can convert to sales.

What a fucking pointless thread.

A decent amount of traffic is whatever brings you a ROI. id take 1 highly targeted pay day loan visitor over 5000 cat picture visitors any day.
