    Hey guys!

I was creating some new adverts on PlugRush, and I saw a new rule being enforced by them:
"Anyone promoting the FBI/Police lockers will be instantly banned"

What in hell is a FBI/Police Locker? From what I can think, I think that some of you dirty BHWers created filelockers that was trying to simulate FBI/Police to trick the poor and innocent visitors to signup in some incentivized offer. But that's just my 2c :D

    Thanks!

lol i remember i went to some website and it said something like "your computer is locked by the FBI" and it told me to pay $100 or something to unlock it.

I could not close the browser or do anything.

Just rebooted and my PC was fine.

I dont know if this is the same locker you are talking about but just sharing my experience

If it's that, it's fun as hell. Smells like BHW stuff.

Maybe that's why it's fun as hell.

blog.yoocare.com/remove-fbi-your-browser-has-been-locked-virus-on-mac/ check that out. I've read about it before it's a pretty well known scam not something I would ever do though and wouldn't recommend it because that shit has to be illegal.

No, ransomware is actual malware. The guy above said that all he had to do was turn it off and on. This seems to just be some browser trick or exploit.

More illegal than the standard blackhat stuff, as you're impersonating the FBI.

its the pop ups that accuses of something shocking like being a paedophile saying the FBI has froze your computer or something along them lines... then asks for money..

The page isn't easy to close so for the average not to tech savvy guy just looking for porn they will probably be a goldmine lmao

This sounds like the browser instantly sneaks its way into a fullscreen popup that you can't open. This forum is about promoting your website using blackhat methods. PlugRush probably doesn't want people to get annoyed with ads that mess their computers up.

Some people get sucked into all kinda scams. I saw this old woman on the tv and she had given away £20,000 to people sending her letters and getting her to believe in the scam.

It's sad really, woman lost her house I think.

I sometimes see those pages on domain typos and cloaked PPV-like traffic. The internet is truly the wild, wild west.

Or how stupid MOST people are. It's the 80% that are below average that are scary. <grin>
