Wasn't really sure where to put this but it might become technical so I've stuck it here for now. Obviously please move it mods if this is incorrect :)

I was thinking about a website receiving traffic that isn't really niche-related. Just general traffic, in order to convert these users in some way we'd have to find out as much about them as possible.

Here is what I could think of so far...

IP address - so we can work out their country from this.
Time - Time with the country we can work out if it's evening or day, might be good for adult offers...
Browser user agent - Mobile or desktop, helpful for mobile game downloads etc. Also firefox more likely to be tech savy?
Social - Pretty sure it's possible we can check if they're logged in to social accounts, YouTube is primarily male (80%) and Pinterest is primarily female, which might be helpful in working out the gender.

Anyone got any other tricks they'd be willing to share?

to better target the users with offers

I think I know how they do that. From the IP you can see the company that owns or leases it. From that, you can pull/guess emails from their website and LinkedIn pages.
That's perfect for you then, you can better target them with email offers :)
