    Howdy Hats :D
I know this is only basic info and I'm almost embarrassed to ask but I've had a search and I am still not %100 sure... so please humour me!

What I want to know is:

When a user clicks a CPA offer and is subsequently redirected to a merchants site what info do the CPA company and/or merchant see?

    • I know that the CPA can see the referring URL. Hence why we blank or spoof the referrer.
    • I guess (but am not sure) that they will see the IP of the user (and so the geographical location)??
    • Also... Do they see any other info that I should be aware of?

I want this information so I can make an educated decision on where to buy junk traffic.

Basically I need it to appear like my offers are getting hits from people in the UK to water down my conversion rates.

So far i have looked at:

Traffic exchanges - But I'm sure they will just have global IPs hitting my offers.
PRStorm - Used in reverse but I guess if they can track IPs the CPA network would only see my IP thousands of times over.
Findology - This seems like the best option providing they can provide my with geo targeted traffic.

    Thanks :)

thanks dude, i just came across this thread which also has some useful info for anyone else with the same sort of questions... why the hell do i always come across the info im looking for when im not looking for it!? :D

Findology does give you some duplicate IPs tho because it is adware, still its probably cleaner than traffic exchanges, shame its not 0.01c per click anymore tho

trafficholder has worked the best for me - but you have to blank the referer. Every now and then I see a leak on my stats but no compaints from my AMs

yeah, your best bet is to use google analytics or something with a simple gui so you can get an idea of what types of metrics and datapoints are available to them. the basics are ip, referer, user agent (browser, including version etc.), timestamps. with javascript they can see those things and more: screen resolution, browser language/charset, etc.
