What if you copy an authority site?

    I mean, not copy it exactly, but open a new website in the same niche (or even better a subniche from the authority site to make it more targeted), take all of the articles from the big site and rewrite them so they appear unique, add some of your own content and monetize it? Could this work ? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid idea.

    You could totally match each page and rewrite it and get long-tail traffic and possibly do something more. I have tested something similar with spinning pages and actually got some good traffic for a while until I went crazy with affiliate links and ads. After that the site went to hell. I say do it, unique is unique my friend.

    Yup it works. It's how I do most of my sites. Model your sites off sites that are already proven to work well and maintain rank for the keywords you want to.

    what happens if someone copies every thing from a site with out spinning?
    (i am talking around 500 unique handwritten articles)
