I'm the cofunder of a up coming fitness Start Up, that uses the Subscription Business Model and will offer a all video based product.

Our Business Plan is Freemium. So, we'll provide prospects with high quality free content and, through it, expose our product.

Making all things short, i think that i need to set up a membership web site - right?

So, i'm doing a check list of things that i need to make things happen' ; ) Check it out:

- Word Press Web Site with a Membership Plug In
- Programmer to integrate the membership plug in to wordpress and tweak things up to make the changes that i need on the wordpress website
- Web designer to make the website's design
- PayPal's Recurring Billing System (using a Premier PayPal's Account) to receive the monthly payments from my clients

Now... some questions popped up when i made the check list above:

- I'm from Brazil, and my Start Up will operate only in Brazil. We speak PORTUGUESE down here.

Using a world wide consumed Membership Plug In, like Digital Acess Pass or aMember - which operates in english - will interfere in my brazilian costumers experience? If there is messages sent to the client, by the system, can this messages be writed in portuguese, or are they pre fixed in english?

- My check list is complete? The things listed above are really everything that i need to set up my Fitness Start Up? Please, consider that we will offer a all video based product + premium articles, ebooks, nutritional plans, periodic videos etc in onder to create costumer retention on the long run.

- What Membership Plug In would you guys suggest for my Start Up?

As far as i can think, those are the questions that already popped up from the making of my business's ''need to do'' check list.

Someone, please, could help out this noob right here? It would be AWESOME and extremely appreciated!

Thanks in Advance!

You can use any platform you want and integrate either of the two of the popular plugin which is amember or wishlist.

I am a designer and developer. I can surely get your website up and running in no time. Please PM ME your skype and we can have a detailed discussion.

The best script combination is

Optimizepress
DigitalAccessPass

Want to follow our progress then send PM with your email address and we will add you to the newsletter index

It is very interesting you will learn a lot!

Thanks :)

Best combination: Wordpress + s2member pro
s2member pro is A: cheap, B: extremely flexible and stable. The coders behind it really know their stuff.

Your checklist is fine. But you should be able to get by with a few of the existing plugins. Of course, it really depends on what you plan to offer on your website. You mentioned fitness, so if you plan to offer private areas for each client to get a fitness review, coaching, etc. I'm not sure what plugin would help you do that.

It really depends on what you have to offer.

Thank you for your insight!

We'll offer a video based fitness program + periodic posted multimedia content!

What you think?

Hi guys,

Newb here writing my first post so bear with me. I think the idea of having a membership for your fitness program is a great idea, but you should consider how your users are going to react when you transition things going from Freemium to paid. In addition, the alerts trying to upsell them may drive them nuts if it is not done strategically (I see this happen a lot with a virtual trainer out there called 'Workout Trainer.')

The advice that I would give you for the actual set up is the same as already recorded in this thread, but I wanted to give you the above insight based off of past experience.

For any BHW members who are building a membership site we are developing one from scratch
and for anyone interested in 'looking in' they can see progress right here on this BHW Thread

You are going to get far more features with MembersGear than you will with those other membership sites you listed.
