What hosting would allow me to install hundreds of wp blogs for backlink indexing?

    ...without shutting me down?

and also what kind of monthly fee would it be?

It would have to allow a good amount of gigs of space too for all the blogs.

    I use hostpapa.

As long as you dont take the piss in terms of server load, they dont care about how many domains you have.

They do have a restriction of 100 databases. But you can always just put 10 blogs into 1 database by changing the prefix.

Ye I do that already all on one db, but I dunno if 100s of wp blogs made for the sole purpose of indexing would be considered 'taking the piss'.

I guess I'd ask upfront to save wasting my time.

Their support is spot on. Just tell them straight, you want hundreds of blog to be used for your SEO campaign and they will be sound with you about it.

Hostpapa is £75 for a year. Most decent dedi's cost that per month.

I've been using Dreamhost as a cheap hosting solution. They are pretty solid and let you have unlimited website/traffic etc. Should also be good for setting up numerous WP installs.

Use this promocode for 20$ off: BHW20OFF

    get a vps man.
there are many providers giving vps below 15$.
DirectAdmin costs low, but if you prefer cpanel just add a few dollars per month.
Whatever, you can have your own VPS for nearly 25 bucks per month..

I already have 2 vps which is why I'm considering this. They actually suggested it to me in the reply.

I had only been using these for blasting.

So how would I set one up for webserver (I'm presuming it wouldn't take up much resources since they only get posted to hourly)? I use one for xrumer and one for SB. I'm thinking to use the one for SB since xrumer takes up 100% cpu and SB is more ram intensive.

So what do I do? I like this idea cos I can do what I want and not worry about them getting taken down unlike on hosting. It takes alto of fucking work to get the indexers up so want them built to last.

Since you're using a windows VPS it would be typical to use IIS to host your sites, however Apache is much better and can now be used with windows. However it's a lot of messing about to get the initial set up, and also, you have to set up the cron jobs (windows - task scheduler) for 100 blogs. If you do go that route use WGET instead of having to open a browser each time (100 browser windows = crash).

If you are doing that for backlinking purposes to your site, you are going to want different IP addresses for your blogs.

It's not nec 100 browsers at a time tho is it. They can be staggered over the hour.

I spoke to the setcronjob guy and he said that 30 which I currently had is not really a large amount of crons and that should not be attributed to the causes of my crashing- that turned out to be another issue of having too many links per post (100).

My answer would be like this.
I think it's useless if you put your indexing blog in the same IP address.

Another option would be a reseller account

Hostgator (yeah those guys) have worked out well for this type of activity

trick is you create an account for every 5-10 blogs

If you want to give it a shot I'd recommend signing up for a base reseller package and pay for it by the year with this coupon for 25% off the first bill
(what I did couple years ago - worked out well)

    Coupon: get25offbhw

I have considered doing this as well but I think it is a waste of time, effort and money for the following reasons:

-100 blogs posting automated spam mixed with profile links on 1 IP address? asking to be deindexed, also a massive footprint for any sites you are linking to, directly or indirectly (e.g. web2.0/article by proxy)
-setup time is huge for 100 blogs
-messing about with WGet, task scheduler and Apache in your VPS sucks
-it may be cost effective to pay indexing services rather than try to do this alone

Oh and you don't use cron jobs for a windows VPS, you have to use the task scheduler.

Even if it's staggered each task scheduler instance opens another instance of your browser, it would be annoying to have to close 100 windows periodically, that's why Wget is essential.

I'm presuming wget is like the command in bots/xrumer etc. which downloads the page rather than opens a browser?

If so that does indeed sound more appropriate.

Isn't wampserver also a webserver? I have used that a few times already with cracks.
