I've been wondering, as I am new to all this, what happens to users to whom I follow who have a private Instagram account.

Do they count as a normal follow even though they haven't accepted my request?

Will it count it as 7500 followed even though for example it says I'm following 6000 and maybe 1500 are invisible because they haven't accepted the request yet but are still followed?

Is there any way to know who they are and how many of them am I following?

    Thanks!

No instagram doesn't give you that option to see how many requests you have sent as per my knowledge you have to go to users account to cancel requests manually or there are many apps that tell who is following you and whom you are following ... from there you might be able to see people who are not following you but you are following so you can unfollow them...

Pending requests get added to your following count. It can cause problems later on. I was not able to follow more than 5.8k people unless I unfollowed, then it hit me that I must be having a lot of pending requests.

From what I've read on various forums, the pending requests are automatically cancelled after 30 days if the user fails to accept/reject.

As of now, there is no way of knowing your pending requests.

nope, they ain't cancelled after 30days. neither did I see any evidence for that, nor can I confirm that from personal experience. If it really happened to some users, then they might have probably been some lucky ones, but most of the times I'm pretty sure that the pending requests got declines by the users.

most end up accepting or declining them after some time and that's why many tend to say that they've been all cancelled.

I have a private account which is followed by about 30 people waiting to be approved. it's been over 2 months rn and I can still accept/decline them.

Might be different considering your account's activity, but I don't know that for sure.

Good to have that cleared. I've read it in so many places that they automatically get cancelled after a month. That's not the case after all.

So From experience I have had the same problem, I have almost 38k Instagram followers & 7.4k following. From what I'm aware of if you use an app/software, in my case (instagress) it will also unfollow pending requests. The reason I say this is because I obviously follow and unfollow daily through instagress, but before I did I could tell I had pending request by not being able to follow anyone else (7500 follow limit) but only showing that I was following 7,425 for example. After unfollowing via software or app I have now been able to follow all 7500 which I couldn't before I started using it. Note: It was inactive private accounts I sent requests to because they didn't accept or decline for months which made me try this method. Hope this is of any help.

yeah, that's possible if the software saves the users you follow. if that's the case you can unfollow/unrequest people who are yet to accept your request, if the bot has that ability.
