What happens is Etsy finds you used a fake ID?

Generally if Etsy (or anyone else you're doing business online with) finds your info is fake, they simply terminate your account and withhold all pending funds. Those funds are now forfeit. Police will not be involved. I've never heard of instances where police have been involved either.

They will just block your account. The funds that will be in the store at the time of blocking, they will pay you in 180 days.

They usually ban you but there is a chance they could report you to make an example out of your, particularly if you're big enough.

I used different location from my own and resulted in total ban of my accounts. So think If they find out that ID is not yours - BAN. After that, I decided not to use platforms like Etsy to sell. I make WordPress sites like pancakes, for god’s sake, Etsy was a big mistake. Cheers!
I don't think the police will be involved anyways as most of the bans are automatic, most likely, they will be involved if you are somewhere in the US and it's a serious violation on some high level, other than that, they will only hold the funds and profit you made for 180 days starting from the day you got banned.

Etsy policy is very strict. i had 3 accounts , doing drop shipping and selling outfits. it has been suspended for brand violation. They change rules everyday
