    When Google reports its fourth-quarter earnings on Thursday, one subject that is almost guaranteed to come up is the prospect that Apple could replace Google as the default search engine on Safari, the basic browser on all of its devices.     Google will loose millions of dollars in terms of easy money. I am sure even Apple won't drop Google to stay relevant.

    Apple wont do that, and even if they do, pretty sure users would still be able to set google as default :D

    If they did drop Google, I can see all of the Safari users just searching for Google on Yahoo (or whatever search engine replaces Google).

    Considering the relevance of Google in the mobile market (Android), I don't see that as an impossible thing to happen. At the end of the day, Apple will be defending their business.
