O.K you have a new site less than 3 months old. You want backlinks and you want them thick and fast. You use evry technique there is known to man that you have learnt from BHW. You have a tad over 75,000 backlinks in under two weeks and you are proud. Then Google comes a knocking and says that you have been a naughty boy and must spend 3 to 6 months in the naughty corner.

Google pnalizes you and you look to see how many backlinks you have and you have 6 (Damn google), you were indexed on 35,000 pages and now you have been whittled down to 800 (double damn google). 6 months past and you have been a good little boy, no more ticking off google. What happens now?

Do you get your 75,000 backlinks back?
Do you get a page ranking because you had a buckett load of backlink pages from high PR sites ?
Or do you bend over and have to take it while the big G gives it to you and you have to start again ?

You already have those links, no one has taken them, they are alive, just google is not showing them.

Of course you get a page rank.

From my experience, the websites which has done time in the sandbox all retains the PR. However, it seems that they will still dance now and then between front page and beyond page 10, even after almost a year later.

The magic number seems to be 1 year. Where everything stabilizes.

After the sandbox period, you usually return to a high position.

Will it say that it is actually a good idea to create 75,000 links to a new site.
Because after you are come out of the sandbox you will have a better ranking on Google. Than you could if without making the 75,000 links.

I use SEO PowerSuite, the free version has better tools than backlinkwatch - you can see PR and all sorts of different stuff that is useful...

    SEO Powersuite is incredible.

I only have the professional versions of Spyglass and Rank Checker, but they are fantastic.

Spyglass is easily the most comprehensive tool to check backlinks that I've seen. It makes reverse engineering quite a bit easier.
