Ok, I spotted this expired 4 yr old, pr5 .com domain. The domain is brandable which can be use on any topic. There's no keyword on the domain. I plan to get the domain and start a new blog from scratch. So what will happen when you completely change the content of this old, high pr site? Anyone here did something like this? Pls share your experience.

Will look weird that it has so many fashion links to it. If there is a manual review it may get hit.

I'll only reccomend you to check better the domain if it has be spammed as it has only that few referring domains. Tough is pretty common all depends upon the backlinks, you've to check 'em. Also how many times the domain has been registered. And most probably if a deep manual review happens you'll also be slapped.

Not necessarily. You could use 404 redirection to keep the link juice, which is better than starting from zero.

Having said that, you would still want to keep it "fashiony" as part of a network (I.e. fashion in game XYZ) that points to your main gaming domain, or which you slowly transition from fashion, to gaming fashion, to gaming.

It's not 404 (not found) redirection. Should be 301.

    1. You meant 301
    2. No, it's not better. It'll eventually die and money been wasted. Creating a site which is part of a pbn from scratch like me and any intelligent people ever did, putting nice content and all the stuff that needs to be done, will last forever for a long interm project- and then income

You can turn any domain into what you want to, if and it's a big if you get penalised - guess what you create another. Just make the domain seem relevant like @mrmarchuk mentioned, iv done it with many of my PBN sites and no issues so far.

I would continue with the fashion niche because the anchor text of the backlinks would be fashion related

As I've been running a case study recently as part of the Ranking BluePrint Live Case study - I've rebranded an old college newspaper and turned it into a nice review sites.

The anchors are almost 100% brand, some solid EDU links/wikipedia/PR5-8 links and so on. It's a PR6.

Having those anchors clean or "different" than your new ones will only allow you to rank quicker with more money anchors in a balanced link profile. If you get manualed... meh you might get slapped.

BUT keeping your sites in less regulated niches is really not that difficult. I'm doing it under the radar 90% of the time now. Stay out of heavy manual review niches and you can survive algos like a champ.

    Good Luck

Most anchor texts are the domain name which is a brandname.

I guess I need to build more relevant links.

    @Everybody Thanks for the advice!

    This is what you do.

You have to make the site relevant to gaming so you first write and add content about gaming.

Then you start sending high pr links with anchors related to gaming to the fashion blog.

I have a kw 4k monthly searches, pdf and doc and random video on first page - no competition
which is better, 5 pr+2 PBN links or 20k churn and burn spam?

The world as we know it will end, asteroids will come crashing down to earth and Jesus will rule on the back of a velociraptor.

serieus : If it has juicy backlinks it should give you a headstart

How much of those 163k+ backlinks actually point to your root domain?
