    Old news man. Yes Blogger.... also Webly, Squidoo, etc. are easier to rank due to authority from the master domain. Whether blogger.com has some special significance due to being owned by google is debatable, though they do like to see their own properties (YouTube) in the search results for the exact reasons outlined in that article.

    Main reason people stick to self hosted is for full customization of site, plug-ins, e-commerse flexibility, getting under the hood, etc. If all you're after is some ad clicks, and maybe a simple shopping cart or dropping affiliate links, by all means blogger, and other Web 2.0's are the way to go, and yes you will have an easier time ranking them, not to mention a lot less worry of penalties and sandboxes.

    Nothing really new here. Blogspot does have some more power then a regular domain name. The other question is it can be flagged by competition real quick and turned down so again it doesn't work as a long term issue-solver anyway.
