Let's say I purchased 10,000 visitors from MaxVisits for 11.99$. Now, I've been told that most people who purchased this traffic has about a .05% conversion rate which would be 500. Exactly what does "conversion" mean? Does this mean they click on your offers (I am affiliated with Clickbank and will be selling a type of eBook) or does it mean that they have purchased from your affiliate link? I'm just a bit skeptical because I highly doubt it means they've purchased your product but I would just like to be positive with some clarification from an experienced user. Thanks in advance :D

Conversion rate is the proportion of people who perform that action you want them to take.

e.g. you get 100 clicks to your Clickbank offer and 1 person signs up. Your conversion rate is 1:100 (or some people say 1%).

you get 20 clicks to a free email CPA offer and 1 person signs up. Your conversion rate is 1:20 (or 5%).

If you send untargeted 10K direct to your CB offer you might get 1 sale, for a conversion ratio of 1:10,000... if you are lucky. Cheap traffic is usually cheap for a reason.
