What does this mean in a link?

    "window.open(this.getAttribute('href'),'');return false;"

    when that's in the <a href et etc?

    It's Javascript. I guess the link looks like that?
    <a href=?blahblah.html onclick=?window.open(this.getAttribute(?href?); return false;?>anchor</a>

    If that's the case, than it opens blahblah.html in a new window if the user has Javascript enabled in his browser.
