Instagram is owned by Facebook and we knew what happened when Facebook became aggressive with its Newsfeed Ads,most fan page reach was reduced down to single digits(in percentage).
Upon reading the article below I fear something like FB Fan pages may happen to Instagram pages.

FB bought IG for $1 billion. How else would they recoup that money back if they didn't discourage people from promoting their accounts the "free" way? :p

But it doesn't matter because the people who make the most money always use PPC. So with that said, I can't wait when IG introduces a self-serve platform to all its advertisers :)

But Pinterest is making things for even PPC difficult by introducing their own Buy Pins linking to the stocks owned by Pinterest themselves.
They used Bloggers/Individual Businesses to rise up, now Pinterest is cutting them out >> http://techcrunch.com/2015/06/02/affiliapocalpse/

We all know they are going to implement adds. But I doubt they make the same mistake they did with fanpages on Facebook.

I hope so cause Instagram has some limitations vis a vis Facebook, they can't put too much variations on an app based platform else it will ruin user experience.

Interesting article, I guess they're on their way to getting some of those money back, wonder how users will react though as many are just teenagers and most don't have a lot to spend so even if they click a lot on ads they might not convert as well as advertisers would want them to, it remains to be seen.

I honestly don't see them limiting page reach. The page reach for fan pages is absurd! You have like 100k likes and your organic reach sometimes falls below 1k, it's atrocious! IG feeds have always worked differently, and you get to see every pic your followings post, I believe it will remain like this!

They can't make the same as they did for facebook pages.
Because you don't have pages, groups, etc on instagram everyone are equal. Its hard for FB to implement the same tactics on IG.

This is my mentality as well. Some of the followliker late bloomers should take this as an amazing opportunity to be able to do sonething significant on Instagram. I would gladly pay ig 10 cents on the dollar per follow, like, etc. there are ppl making boatloads doing fb marketing and selling fb marketing services. Here's a chance for many of us to do the same on ig while many ppl don't understand the platform.

I think instagram is Facebook somewhat that is why they made the app like this in dark blue/blue for the design of the app, the color like the logo from Facebook that makes sense to me :D

You guys ever heard of Instabrand? They link advertisers with "Instagram influencers" and run analytics on those campaigns. They just raised $2.5 million in venture capital 2 months ago. Im sure they'll be pivoting to an Instagram ad agency of some sorts

    http://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-instabrand-funding-20150331-story.html

There's alot of people out there that still don't understand Instagram. Im saying the money is with learning their advertising platform and sell that as a service or use it to launch your own products/service

So it will be the individuals who run the IG accounts who have a say on who puts ads on their pics, and they'll get the money from that advertisement, is that right? I just thought IG would just be putting ads on every post throughout :S what do I know
