I get this error when I try to start up SE Robot. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))

I ran a registry utility. It is XP Repair Pro. It does work on Windows 7 too.

I am running it in a Virtual Box setting. It ran fine there for a couple of days and now this. I also asked on SE Robot forum, but hold small hope that it will ever be answered. Handling customer questions is not one of their strengths.

Run a Google search of the error message. There are several references to it. I saw several suggestions that the problem is with Microsoft Office 2003, and that running a repair install might fix it. Are you running this? Something is corrupted, and the fix will probably fit this pattern. Reinstall "X" and the problem will go away.

Does SE Robot require any support software, like Java, .NET, VBasic, etc....? Does it have a direct interface with Microsoft Office?

XP Repair Pro is at best crapware, and may be the cause of the problems. Those magic, "fix all" softwares are all marketing hype and no substance at all.

I saw the references to Office but I don't have it on this machine. It is a Virtual Box machine so it only runs IM software. It worked for several days and then stopped. I didn't add any new software so whatever changed must have changed during start up or shut down.

Thanks for answering. Most of the stuff a Google query returned was above my head. Maybe I will try a "Restore". I don't know how Windows 7 is with that?

Thanks for the assist.
