    Hi guys,

I've been a member on BHW for a while now, never really posted, being busy doing many stuff between daily job and attempts to do something allowing me to quit the damn job. :)

Anyway, I've had moderate success getting affiliate commissions with seo'd websites, and I want to be more serious about it.

What I'm working on : I bought a 2007 PR3 domain in the targeted niche. Now I want to rank it, and I'd like to have your input about keyword selection.

(domain name is pretty generic, and contains the main keyword)

I've looked many kind of related keywords and I've encountered this kind of keywords :

1 word kw like "brandname" (the company that sells the products I'm affiliated to)
    1-5 millions results

Google 1st page those keywords looks like this :

    1 - Company website obviously
    2-10 :
    • Company facebook profile
    • Company twitter profile
    • Company youtube profile
    • Big authority websites with an article/forum post about the keyword/company (Drupal for example)
    • Authority website in the same niche, also selling affiliate products, not really optimized for the keyword, but lots of authority
    • Company Linkedin profile

So my question : do you have any experience in outranking facebook, twitter, and other social media websites ?

The way I see it is Google shows those websites because there aren't many websites really optimized for those keywords. Am I wrong ? Or does that mean the keyword is competitive no one even bother trying to rank for it ?

    Thanks guys

PS : Sorry if I posted in the wrong section, please move the thread if needed. Thanks.

In fact, there aren't many websites really optimized for those keywords. Outranking Facebook, Twitter is easy. But outranking Wikipedia like sites is pretty tough. #PersonalExperience

    Thanks BusinessMagnet.

This is the way I see it also. But I should add those company keywords have 6600-45000 exact searches per month.

So I can't see why nobody's optimized websites before me. And you know what they say about stuff that looks to good be t
