What do you think of the medical symptoms niche?
by that, I mean keywords like "feeling dizzy after surgery" or "anxiety after eating" ?

google keyword tool says a lot of searches and little competition, but it sounds too good to be true.
is it difficult to monetize the traffic? or what is the reason that I dont see any blackhatters in this niche?

anxiety after eating = 390 monthly searches
Feeling dizzy after surgery = 16 monthly searches

Both locally and CPC for both is 5 cents.

    Exact Keyword

    [anxiety after eating]
    260 170

    [feeling dizzy after surgery]
    < 10 < 10

Make sure to check the exact keyword phrase to get accurate results for a particular niche

Those are not my keywords, the medical keyword that i am talking about has 3600 monthly searches and the competition is very very low (the green bar is barely there.) the cpc is 5 cents.

edit: after unchecking broad and checking exact, I got 340 global and 280 local.

Well the cpc being 5 cents might explain why people are not going after it.

yes starting out $1.00 is ok to go after.

That green bar in the google keyword tool does not tell you the competition for SEO, it is telling you the competition for adwords or PPC advertising. It has nothing to do with how much SERPs competition there is.

To check your competition use Market Samurai or SEO Quake plugin.

In all honesty, you want that green bar to be maxed out with competitors which will in turn make the cpc (where you make money) worth more. That is in theory anyways.

omg, are you serious, so all this time i have been reading it wrong
what do you mean "competition" for adwords or ppc? who cares if there is high or low competition/ what does it mean if there is high competition or low competition?

High competition, high cpc...low competition, low cpc...in theory...high competition means more money to you when someone clicks the ad on your site.

Pretty much exactly what he said. The best explanation I can give you is that high competition or a lot of green in the bar means that there are a lot of people using adwords or "Paying for Advertising through Google" for that keyword term. This in turn will because of demand cause the cpc "cost per click" higher for that said keyword. Which in turn means that you should make more money per click as it is costing the advertiser more money.

In short you never look at the competition in Google Keyword Tool for SEO purposes. You need a tool like market samurai to check the onpage/offpage seo of the first page listings and decide if you are up to the challenge.

    Hope that helps you out.
