    Recently I've been working on a cartoon site:

    http://watchtoon.com/

    I haven't got round to adding every single episode (which is a pain in the arse), but there's plenty on there to keep you entertained for a while.

    So, any suggestions/opinions?

    Well for one thing, it loads slow as shit. Other then that, standard WP template with no logo. Ehh.

    Lol, I'm using a free host atm but when it's fully up and running I'll switch hosts. Isn't too much of a problem anyway, the videos are embedded. Thanks for the feedback though!

    Home Page:
    It's a bit plain, I can say;
    Blend the ads in better, they are making the site look horrible being white;
    Get a custom logo, your current text logo is even blurry;
    Add content into bottom left;
    Maybe add something at the top or move the whole page up;

    The nav and video slide bar look cool though :)

    Priority #1 is adding episodes, after that i'm gunna sort out the ads and get a logo etc... I'm a bit indecisive about what to put in that space in the bottom left :( .

    Sites good, but get rid of the crappy ads on the right. Get a bit of traffic to the site and then find better ways of making money from those visitors.

    Your image sizes are crazy big.. ;)

    One of the smaller images I checked the properties on was 123.7KB.

    Your using .png - when exporting try png 8 if you have that option available in your software or stick with .jpg.

    I use Fireworks alot, does a pretty good job at handling files.

    I'm not too sure on Photoshop CS4, I use a plug on my CS3 - http://photoshop.pluginsworld.com/plugins/adobe/1095/ardfry-imaging-llc/pngout-png-optimizer.html

    You can find the stadalone PNGOUTwin here "assuming your a windows user" - http://www.ardfry.com/pngoutwin/

    As for an overall image optimizer I like - SmartSaver Pro from Ulead - http://www.ulead.com/ssp/runme.htm

    NOTE!: Always back you folder up your going to perform a batch job.

    Lighten the text up - barely readable.

    Learn a little css or find a bettter template. The TarouMag theme is ok, but there are better ones out there for what your wanting to do. ;)

    Keep at it - you'll get there!

    Regards,
    mindseye.

    Do you think I should go for white text or just a light shade of gray?

    Hey Jonny, your site is looking great! Although I did not get to see it in the beginning.
