*Inspired* by another thread got me wondering. What is the percentage of people who quits IM before they reach success?

I know there is no accurate figures, I read somebody said 95%. But I'm guessing maybe 50 or 60%? I mean once you get to the good stuff, it's obvious that it works right?

    What do you guys think?

Wait reading about how to do IM and applying IM methods are 2 completely different things. so i'm gonna say 95 percent is about right

Probably 98% - 99%. Sounds very high, but it really isn't. Think of it this way: 1 in 100 or 2 in 100.

Definitely agreed with the 99%+ rates... too many expect easy quick money from IM and give up right away.

maybe 99% drop out, but many of these 99% don't take the business serious and don't work much on it.

if you take only those who really work hard to have success in IM maybe 20-40% drop

i don't think it's 99% If that was true everyone in this thread wouldn't be here lol

I do however believe that 90%+ of people in IM never make more than beer money or a car payment at most.

gotta be pretty high. It's amazing to me that people have no problem working 8-10 hours a day and complain about it, but lack the drive to sit at a computer for an hour and make that same amount of money.

ESPECIALLY being they use 5 times that time doing nothing on the internet.

Guess it's just the mentality of "I'm not at work, so I shouldn't be doing anything geared towards making money... including work."

as far as figures, I like to use eghey as an example: millions of people and auctions at any given time. How many people use it as a full time source of income? about 1-5%. The rest are doing IM... and don't even know it.

    so I say about 95-99%.

I'd be plenty willing to bet that one year from now a solid 50% of posters in this thread have already dropped out. Seriously. Raise your hands who has been in IM for a few years now, or who makes their entire living online. Now goto a whitehat based forum, where the success rate is even lower. I think 1 in 100 people who come into IM actually making it a successful career isn't too far off. Hell, that might even be a high number really.

lol well to be fair, I'd estimate that about 90% of people get into IM simply because of "The Guru Promise": MAKE A LARGE UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF MONEY BY BUYING A DOMAIN AND PUTTING CRAP ON IT!!! $2995 10 no 8 COPIES LEFT!!!1111eleventyone

After finding out that it's really not that simple and buying the dream over and over, a lot of people stop. Or they realize that it's work and they just stop rather than give up their allocated internet porn time.

At least with BHW, I don't have to buy into anyone's dream. I can simply steal it.

I couldn't see myself quitting when all of this is free and I do it at my job. lol

    Most accurate answer here! \/

-80% drop out of the game after 3 months.

-18% keep trying for 4+ years and still never make.

-2% actually make a decent amount.

-0.02% of the %2 make it BIG!

*I know it is sad how that 18% think that trying is enough. I have known guys that at the end of their life say, I though trying my best was enough. Trying doesn't guarantee success.

    Good luck noobs! ;)

I think its got to do with the fact that it is less tangible when working on a computer and 'getting paid' if you get my drift...
I mean, when you go to work on your 9-5, you may in fact sit in front of your computer for 8 hours and getpaid very little, but you have proven fact that you will get paid... that fact comes from the endless hours you've spent at your job...
It far easier to take confort in that, for most people, than to spend hours in front of the computer at home, staring and following every little sparkle that you see, expecting to get paid. 99% percent of the time, you DONT get paid because you don't stick at a system long enough to see it develop... before you know it.. "woo-hoo! Blue Car!!"

I thinks it's impossible to get any real statistics because it seems like most unsuccessful IM'ers don't ever quit. They just continue to hang around DP...day after day after day. They post shit like "thanks, great method", "thanks for the great share bro", "I agree totally with OP", "I get it but could you expand a bit on point #2" or my favorite "Great share! This should be an e-book man!" And you can always spot them because they have like 1700 posts and still say stupid shit like "ezine articles sucks IMO. You cant put any links in your articles so I don't see why everyone loves these guys so much." (I just recently saw this one) :D

    Why won't these people quit?
