    Hi,

I'm planning to start soon some websites to make good money and today I've started to take a look at niches and possible keywords to make websites for.

I'm having a lot of hassle with competition and how to choose a keyword. The first thing is how to determine if a keyword is good to rank for or will take me 8+ months to get 1# for it.

I want to make an idea on how a keyword/niche looks good for you and here I have a keyword which personally I think it has low competition :( but I don't know exactly why I'm feeling that I'm wrong.

Here is the keyword: stain removal

What do you think about this keyword? How do you choose your keywords? (not how you find it but how you pick, how you determine if is good or not).

    Thanks a lot.

Not too bad. The good news is that google's keyword checker shows that it has 301,000 global monthly searches. So if you do manage to get to the top, you should get a fair number of clicks.

8,100 exact searches, not bad, but Google it and you see .edu and authority sites all over the front page so it will be HARD to rank. Are you planning to monetize with just Adsense? With that keyword Adsense is pretty much your only option and relying on Adense is risky. I wouldn't bother with it myself.

Ideal keyword for an adsense based site. however it is difficult to get well established affiliate products for this niche, with adsense taking care of it, and with a cpc of 2.5 you will definitely get around 1+ dollar per click. 3600 monthly local searches for the exact term, so if you get an emd, then it is going to be a long term money spinner for you.

Don't write your keywords on here.

Make sure you check exact match searches when doing KW research.

I'd keep looking if I was you, plenty more keywords (it's an ocean really)
Your limited with that type of keyword, you can't pitch products, you can't
build a forum from it, and you can't build a list of emails. It's very narrow.

Just my opinion, but I like topics with a bit more appeal and scope to work off.
People searching about stain removal aren't really that motivated.

It has a SerpIQ of 57, so its moderate competition.

quite tough in my opinion, but it has some nice variations (blood stain removal, ink stain removal, carpet stain removal, etc. )

Firstly never disclose your keywords further, if you find a good product which you wanna promote you can go with that keyword. It all depends on the searches and competition. But the niche looks good to start up with.

i like to start with a simple keyword phrase that i want in the g kw tool and then run additional searches with phrases i find in the results. usually within about five searches i start to get a good feel for some similar but less competitive keyword ranges to work with that will be easier to rank
