like many other millennials, I dislike talking on the phone
even thinking about having someone whisper into my ear via cell phone pisses me off

that being said, what do you guys say when you answer the phone?
for example, what do you say when it's a random number (I never answer those), or like a client of yours?

    I usually open with:
    • Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
    • What's good?
    • It's yaboi speakin

What I'd like to say, but I'm too much of a pussy:
    • Aloha my broha
    • This better be good...
    • Talk to me
    • Do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior, Neon?
    • Sorry I'm only 7/10 gay
    • Thank you for calling Nikchaing's Gay Porn Emporium & Bistro, what kind of meat do you like?

    • Thanks Thanks x 7

    I usually say hello.

Then, if it's a solicitation, I then try to get them to donate money to a political party and I just pretend I'm confused because they called a political party's office.

I have wondered what I'd do if someone actually wanted to donate, but so far this hasn't backfired yet.

I'm fine on the phone, but the one thing that really fucks me off is when companies call me out of the blue and the first thing they say is "Is that MR xyz?" - I was brought up to introduce myself first before asking a question, or I don't know, asking for money for some shit product or service I don't want. Fucking rude pricks. So yeah, that's a sure fire way to get hung up on.

Oh I hate this too. I turn it around on them, I don't answer the question and ask who they are and what they want first. This probably gives away that I'm the person they're trying to talk to, but seriously... introduce yourself first.

    I just say hello.

If I'm not interested in what they're saying I hang up.

That being said, I don't give out my number to clients, and if family calls I usually answer with "Yeah," or "What."

Don't be ridiculous. Bold doesn't work over the phone. Only italics and underline.

For all numbers that I know (not business related) I simply start with mumbling aka sound of "Mmm" as I don't like talking on the phone almost at all. They are calling me, so why should I start talking first? :D

If I must answer anything business or similar related over the phone I usually just say "Yes?" and that's all, again, they are calling me so they should explain what they are up for. :D

for me, it's gotten to the point that I'm almost relieved that I can talk to a bot instead of a person when I call a big company like Paypal or something
