Now that articles/blogs have both been devalued by panda, and are harder to get posted to WHAT properties are you guys linking as your first tier aimed directly at your money-site?

I've been playing with the idea of using wiki's at my MS... haven't actually tried it tho. I HAVE been using a little bookmarking directly at my MS, but still I'm mostly using articles (web2.0's, article dirs, and blog posts). But I'm thinking there MUST be other good MS options...

The jury is still out on that for me.

In the update that occurred last week:

    1. The articles that I posted in a private network all gained PR. Mostly from PR n/a to PR0 and more than I expected (about 30%) to PR1.
    2. In one of the networks I use, some of the comments I posted had the page PR jump from PR0 to a PR2-PR3 (about 10%)
    3. The entire blog section on my MS now has a higher PR than any other sections or pages (including the homepage).

My rankings have improved for 3 out of 6 of my kw's and 1 related kw phrase..

IDK, I didn't do any SEO/linkbuilding to the blog articles/comments, but someone else could have.

That being said, my next plan is to diversify domains/ips linking to me.

So wikis are next on my plate for domain/ip diversity.

And of course moving between different blog networks. Once I notice that any of my new articles for a MS appear on the same blog as an old article, I move on to the next.

Ah, so private blog network posts to your MS seemed to at least up the PR. What about SERPS? Did it help that as much?

I too wanna try wiki's too, need to decide how many at a time is safe to test blast though...

I am just using articles and a few comments on private networks to my money site at this time. They appear to be raising my SERPS for my targeted kw's.

I do remember now that I use comment blasts to my first tier. I have a conservative setting at 2 each per day (300 total) and I have them pushed through linklicious. It doesn't seem to hurt anything at this time.

There appears to be a limit to the top SERP I can reach using this method alone. I seems to sit in position 4-6 for my main kw.

Good news is that the secondary kw's that I am targeting are steadily rising.

Since I have had success with private blog networks I will continue to use them. As a matter of fact, I will consider them to be my control for future efforts.

What's next for me (in order of priority)?
    1. linkwheels
    2. .edu blogs/wikis, but not profiles.
    3. social bookmarking (I have done some to individual blog posts on my MS but not directly to the homepage)
    4. wiki networks
    5. g+

Test test test. What do you use for you competition analysis? I use market samurai. I try to emulate my competitions backlinks to start and then diversify to overtake them in the SERPS.

Careful with the linkwheels... I've heard those can leave quite the footprint. I might not aim those at my MS, but rather your more valuable t1's.
