A number of tools I used to check backlinks are showing 0. I'm 100% sure I don't have 0 backlinks. My site's been around for 2 years, PR 2, #1 for my term, and I bought 10,000 blacklinks. What?!!?

There's seriously a thread on this every 2 or 3 days. Most tools don't work anymore because of Yahoo going bust. Magesticseo works alright. If you search you can find a bunch of things people have asked about over the last month.

The demise of YSE sucks so hard its not even funny. I really hope that some other company steps up to the plate. You can try blekko if you are looking for a free alternative, but they really have limited capabilities.

I use backlinkwatch.c0m. I'm not sure how accurate it is but hey, it's better than nothing and it's free.

LOL YSE sucked... only gave 1000 links per site, which made it useless for sites with tens of thousands of links

SEO Spyglass and Ahrefs.com both give 10x that many links and are way better than YSE ever was

I wish they could, but the costs of creating anything that could rival YSE would be so expensive that its probably not an option. It will prolly take another major search engine to create a free tool like that. I mean just imagine the servers and storage that would be required to build it and open it up to the public.

Wait for the backlinks to get indexed and processed. Oftentimes most search engines and webmaster tools services will not show them for weeks and months.

Been trying out Scrapebox's new Backlinkchecker 2 add-on. It seems pretty accurate but still can't compare with the original backlink checker which pulls from YSE. No idea where this one is getting its data from

I use Ahrefs. It's ~$50/m, but if you use it a few times per week; it's definitely worth the price. They show incoming links, anchor texts, what page it goes to, what site it comes from, and a bunch of other stats.

Their keyword analysis tool that they took down just over a week ago was fantastic. You were able to see where the sites were ranking and reverse engineer Adwords campaigns. Something about it was against the Google TOS, so they had to take it down.
