    Hey all.

So I'm building a new blog and haven't really built a list before. I decided to go for mailchimp because it's free. I want to get an email sign up/ opt in form on my sidebar. What do you guys use for that? Obviously free would be better, but if not then low cost please.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Check out contact form 7:

    Code:
    [URL]http://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/[/URL]
Then just Google how to integrate w/ your autoresponder

    Or...check this out:

    Code:

Thanks man. I have that mailchimp plugin set up already actually. It just looks a bit too plain.

I'll check out contact form 7. I have it used as my "contact" page at the moment so hopefully it will be easy to set up.

Yeah, I hear ya...that mailchimp plugin is a bit generic. There are ways to make contact form 7 work with it. Good luck!

Hit up creative market or another free design marketplace for cut/paste design for signup module freebies. Not sure how CSS friendly you are.

Also look at Ninja Forms plugin.

Send me your niche if you want, I can help you look for some free hq templates for a squeeze page or sidebar. I'm going into email marketing too. I have a lot of free traffic methods I'm gonna try out. Gonna build a buyers list of 10K hopefully.

Also, I was gonna used mail chimp before. But chose not to. I forgot why. But now I'm goin with getresponder. $15/month for 1000 subs. And you get unlimited emails.

I would have chose aweber, since everyone says to go with them. But they charge $1 the first month then $20 later on. But you only get 500 subs. So it kinda sucks..

But since we're both into email marketing right now, we could help eachother out? :0

So long story short I just made a custom box. Taught myself how to do it all this afternoon. It wasn't that hard, but I'm a fast learner I guess.
