    Hey all.

I'm getting a voice over done and I wanted to know what you guys thought of this guy, before I hire him. He is pretty cheap and that's the main reason I'm edging towards going with him. I like him sure enough, but his voice is just a little bit weaker than the others. The only problem is that the others prices are 6X more expensive. The voice over will be played over a product information video leading to a call to action at the end.

Mods* I'm not sure if this is the right place. I was going to put it in the video section, but I thought the sales persuasion experts would be more beneficial. Anyway if it's a problem, I understand if you want to move it. Cheers :)

Just kidding. He sounds like a professional I guess. I don't have much expertise in these things.

Am I the only one who thinks he sounds a bit creepy? There's just something about his voice that seemed odd. Professional yes but something just not clicking for me.

I'm with localhero on this one. Since you seem to be focused on the price point, hiring this guy over another should depend on what you sell. If you sell an inexpensive service or product, saving six times the investment may be a good option. But I would advise to go with one of your more expensive, but more quality, alternatives. If you run an effective marketing campaign, the right voice over may be the difference between x number of sales and 4x number of sales. If you forecast the difference in the number of sales being greater than the difference in the price paid for the more expensive option, go for the more expensive option. Hope that helps.

His voice is lacking the pushing edge as it should be in the ads. Its good for narrative stuff though. With some post production audio treatment it could be improved.

This is exactly what I was hoping someone would say. I thought exactly the same. What I may do is hire this guy first, then when I've made enough to pay for the other ones I will get them to do another. This guy is SUPER cheap. So if it doesn't work out, it's not much lost.

Thanks for all of your answers guys. Good to know that about half of you think this guy is ok, if you all said no then I would have jumped straight into the more expensive ones.

    Thanks :)

Google voice 123. You should see a site that is a talent database for professional voice actors. You can either post a project there or hire any talent you find in their listings.
