just wondering what your opinions on this topic are.

i understand that this is not a scientific law, but more of a popularized idea in certain books, spirituality, and philosophy.

but i do think that it is a potentially valid hypothesis which could be confirmed in the near future, due to the strange things we see about consciousness and quantum mechanics, where the observer is considered fundamental in the collapse of the wave function.

while practically you can say that one needs to take "physical action" to cause change,
somehow certain experiments in quantum mechanics and consciousness is starting to show us that "thought", even without taking action with your physical body can influence the physical world, although in a very subtle sense.

it may require strong focus to influence bigger events.

It generally works, the issue is some folks use it as an excuse for laziness. Yes, I'll stay all day at home and will manifest my way to a million dollars by year's end by imagining it intensely. It works only if you couple it with daily discipline and work.

I daily watch porn and think about it but It has been 2 years 39 Days 13 Hours 04 Minutes since I got sex.
i had the same confusion as you, but as explained by some of the philosophers in this area, it is the negative beliefs or doubt that cause the thing to not happen.

whatever "emotion" (either positive or negative) that is attached to your "thought" is what manifests into your life. so if you fear that something bad will happen to you and want to run away from it, that will manifest into reality.

so for a lot of people that don't get sex, due to some practical experiences that occurred in the past, causes them to always hold on to beliefs such as "it's hard for me to get sex",
so while they may have started practicing "the law of attraction", negative beliefs and doubts Always clouds their mind and interferes with the process of "pure positive thought". this is potentially the reason why it does not manifest.

remember that in Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, until the observer makes the observation, the physical particles are in a quantum superposition of multiple states.
it is only once the measurement is made, that the quantum probabilities collapse into the single definite reality we get to experience.

this is the part I'm trying to discuss where, even without physical action, and just sitting on your chair and being lazy,
BUT,
having "positive thought" without any doubts or negative beliefs, could potentially bend reality to serve your needs because you "desired" it.

Experiments were done on human consciousness with random number generators and coin toss, where they did in fact discover some surprising results.
there are research papers published on this by Jean Radin.
he talks about it in this video

It doesn't work.
i agree, it's very hard even if it does work.
because i think it requires regulating your emotions, such that, you only give attention to positive thoughts without entertaining negative or limiting beliefs.

most people have a hard time with keeping out negative thoughts or doubts, myself included.

it may require strong mediation and practise.

Hmmmmmmmmm

I sense a pop occultism thread.

Ehhh. Ummm. Generally magic / spellcasting works just fine, but if you end up insane from seeing beings you called during ritual don't blame the internet. No, you don't need to take physical action for it to work.

@alonelywriter If you obsess about the result you won't get it.

Generally I'm not big fan of law of attraction take on things though cuz 1. new age 2. too simplyfied, too cringe, up to a point where people say shit that's unreal and doesn't work at all.
