Title says it all. How do you pump yourself up and keep focused on your IM projects? What drives you and or what do you do to regain your drive when the workload for your projects becomes overwhelming, annoying, or starts going downhill? Interested in hearing everyone's "methods" on this.

I am quite adept at this man. I mean, I've been struggling on IM for 1year+ but I am still motivated and have faith things will go my way once I try EVERYTHING I know :)

This is my exact method on how I still remind myself of my goals and keep me motivated.

You see, my IM goals are not the only ones I have, but they are part of other HUGE projects I have in mind. And with that being said, I know that I WON'T probably achieve my other HUGE goals if I don't succeed on IM, so that's my #1 motivation, succeed on IM and I will be able to give a shot to my other projects!

I will tell you exactly how I keep my head up to keep going with this. :)

2013, the first 4 months of the year, my goal was to earn at least $1k a month by December, so my motivation to work was clear: Work to achieve $1k/month. May came and I was amazed that I wasn't earning a penny from all of my efforts. Then I decided to change my IM course and try with SEO and PPD. By then, Darkstar had already achieved that awesome $249/day goal (and at the moment, he is already making $10k+) so he motivated me to start with PPD and at that moment, I decided to take my goals to a next level by making it $100/day and not $1k/month, which is my goal tripled.

From June to October, a new inspiration came into the scene, and this time was Kinlee, who got to her goal of earning $10k/month (at the moment, I think she's doing like $15k+ or sth).

And at this moment, early October, I just said to myself that I would at least reach my $1k/month goal so I kept working as hard as I could by applying everything I have learned until that moment. There were times I was working from 10am to 1am with short breaks to eat and going to bathroom and that just told me I would succeed by December! Achieving my goal in dECEMBER was my Motivation!

So Late November arrives and by this time both Kinlee and Darkstar had achieved their goals while I was still not earning a penny... And knowing that December was getting closer and closer and that my first $1k/m goal was and has not been reach I just cracked up many times in the first days of December knowing that all my effort of the last 11 months was just a waste of time and waste of money as all money I had in my possetion was invested on IM tools, hosting and other tools.

And to be honest, December was the worst month I have had in many years as I knew I wasted a lot of effort trying to make ends meet, trying my best in everything I did in the first 11 months...

So by then, my motivation was crushed, all my faith was on the ground and also my self-steem.

To be honest, in December I felt so bad that I cracked up and cried several times as I all the work and effort I put was just in vain...

So late December came and then I decided to stop crying, stop the negative thoughts and ask for help. Though I had already asked many times for help to several people, I decided to show my plan to already successful IMers, work on what they think is wrong and succeed.

I said to myself that 2014 will be the year I will succeed as I will DO ANYTHING THAT IS NECESSARY TO succeed in my $100/day Journey!

I am working hard on this, with all the tips, information I have been given by so many people to achieve my goal!

    In short man,

In 2013, my motivation was that in December I would have at least, reached $1k/m, a goal that never materialised at least YET.
In December, I felt the worst depression I had since ever, but decided to get up and work on what might be wrong or on how I can enhance my works! You see, In December I LOST FAITH in me and my work, but in late December, I REGAINED IT AND I WON'T REST UNTIL I REACH MY GOAL!

I really REALLY think that success LIES IN THE THINGS I HAVEN'T TRIED YET! And that's exactly what I am doing! Doing the stuff that I never tried before!

I am still not a successful IMer, but I can tell you I have been working my ass for more than a year, and I won't stop but until I reach my success!

The keyword here is: NEVER STOP! Doesn't matter if you fail! DON'T STOP! Keep working, correct your mistakes, TRY THE STUFF YOU HAVEN'T BEFORE AS SUCCESS MAY LIE THERE!

2014 is my year! And I will succeed! :)

    Thanks for reading man!

    Peace!

I take a look at my past and remind myself to remind myself of the life that I don't want to return to. Then I take a look at my daughters to keep my fighting for the future I want them to have.

Damn, that was a hell of a read royserpa. Thanks for posting that. Even though you haven't succeed yet, I love the amount of determination you've put into your work and goals. It was definitely worth the read. 2014 is young and all the success in the world awaits. I hope I don't lose sight of that just as you haven't lost sight of your goals.

    Thanks man.
Just remember, when you get down, why you started on IM, what are your goals, what are you doing, what you can improve and if you dont know how to improve, ask others, everyone is willing to help others as they were also once noobs at some point.

Just keep going man, just as i am.

My goal is huge, and in reality, earning $100/day is just a small step to my biggest projects! :)

Thats what keeps me trying amd trying and trying! :)

I know other people have succeeded in weeks, and to be honest, i would also like to succeed, but thats what i am trying to do my way.

    Cheers!

For me, it has to do with proper planning and specific goal setting.

The goals MUST be what I call "SMART"

    S - Specific
    M - Measurable
    A - Actionable
    R - Reasonable
    T - Have a specific time frame.

An example would be: "I want to lose weight" - bad goal. "I'm going to lose 20 lbs by June 1st, by working out 20 minutes per day, 3 days per week" - SMART goal.

Sometimes I'll give myself a little 'treat' if I hit my goals. A 'treat' could be something as simple as - get to mess around on facebook for 30 mins instead of working.

I haven't worked a "job" in well over 8-10 years. I like working for myself and plotting out my own destiny.(But i've been like this ever since I was a kid.... selling candy, cutting peoples lawns, selling lemonade, etc)

I prayed and dreamed for the day when i could work from anywhere in the world from a laptop just over 10 years ago and now that time is no longer a dream but my reality everyday now.

I also think about the reality that this world has ALWAYS consisted of 'haves' and 'have not's'. I REFUSE to be in the latter. There are so many things one can do in IM (including things rarely mentioned here on BHW, or mentioned at all for that matter...) simple things that if you only made one dollar a day from them, you could scale by 10 and increase your earnings.

I have grown accustomed to the idea of creating systems that put money to work for me and not the other way around.

Lastly when I think about how most people in the world struggle just to have something to eat, let alone the internet and I try my best to NOT take the things I have before me for granted I can use to elevate myself. I am recharged each time.

If you are on the fence about making money online fix that mentality quick. The world has changed in many ways (still as I mentioned before, it's about the 'haves' and 'have not's' at the end of the day...)

The barrier of entry into many lucrative possibilities is but a fraction via IM and/or the Internet in general. At this point compared to most traditional and conventional options, I think it is one of the best options for little investment hands down.

    Be Inspired

Its Simple When I Earned 1$ in a day with ad-sense I thought why not scale it up to at least 400$ a day. It will take me time to reach my goal but everyday I work Hard to reach it.

    Awesome posts!

Search on yt for "the core fundamentals", should be the first vid, 6 months old. If I feel really tired/demotivated/annoyed, I watch it. Gets me right back on track :)

It's not just the video, though. The first thing I do is remind myself of my current situation, and then think about my goals, my future and how it WILL be, because I'm already working on making it real. I try, as much as I can, to keep a crystal clear vision of my dreams, and I always remember that they won't happen on their own. Only I can make them happen.

I think about all the opportunities around me. Little things that we take for granted, like having the internet, being healthy enough to do IM, living in this age when IM is possible, being a part of BHW which is full of helpful people and ideas on how to make $. It's like life itself is begging us to make our existence what we want it to be. It'd be a huge mistake not to act NOW, when we CAN literally LIVE OUR DREAMS, and every moment we spend slacking off, is a moment lost forever.

The above is always enough for me :) So when I'm all pumped up and motivated, there are other things I do to keep myself focused, like goal setting (it really works wonders). Every day I follow a list of things that must be done. I make precise goals like 'Create 5 YT accounts', instead of 'Create some YT accounts', works much better for me. When everything on the list is ticked off, I create another one for the next day, and if I still have time, I start working on it right away.

Energetic music also helps, and no distractions like TV (which I don't even have, thank god), video games, socializing, etc.

    Hope this helps!

I think of a couple things when I'm working on my internet marketing techniques.
    1. I'm a college student and unlike most of my peers in America, I am not fine with having college debt when I graduate. (Total would be like $50k+ and if things keep up I won't have any when I graduate.)
    2. My dad is a very hard working man who has a lot of debt and I sincerely want to assist him.
    3. I'm a young guy who has plans for the future and doesn't believe that being poor/searching for odd jobs is going to cut it.

I know that the things that inspire me may not be the most inspirational for other who come from 3rd world countries looking for a little bit of cash to sustain their families but they keep me on track. In the end, your reasons for inspiration may be different from mine but all of our goals are simply the same. To be successful and to get to this state you need to find those personal things that will inspire you.

To me motivation does not last, it only helps me get started. The grind, the process can easily kill your motivation. What does keep me going is the goals that I've set for myself.

I write down these questions and answer them on a piece of paper:

    What is my goal?
Why do I wish to achieve that goal?
What do I plan to do with that achieved goal?
What will achieving that goal do for me?
What will achieving that goal do for others?
What other paths in life will be opened up if I achieve that goal?
How will I feel if I achieve that goal?
How will others look upon me if I achieve that goal?
How would I feel about how others view me if and when I achieve that goal?
What will be the consequences if I do not achieve that goal?
How will I feel if I don't achieve that goal?
Would it worry me if I don't achieve that goal? And why?
How will others feel about me if I don't achieve that goal when I said I would?

Then I get to work. I wake up everyday with a purpose, sometimes I even find myself neglecting sleep to get things done. When I feel like doing nothing I read what I've written down and instantly get back to what needs to be done. Having pictures of my goals on my wall near where I do my work also helps me stay on track.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm definitely going to start using some of these tips and implement them into my own day to day routine. Also, thanks for posting up The Core Fundamentals video. I saw it posed on a journey thread last month, but forgot to bookmark it. Will probably end up watching it today during my break from content writing.

Even after so many years it's difficult not to procrastinate. Today I lost an excellent opportunity because of that... was setting up a music mixer instead of working.

I use a lot of alarms and reminders, telling me to do something and forget all else. Today it failed as I was elsewhere!

Avoid work overload and focus on small tasks at a time, easier to avoid boredom :)

Whenever I slink into a negative vortex I throw on some motivational audio...anything I can find on youtube, Jim Rohn - the power of ambition, Les Brown- the best motivational video, brian tracy - secrets of self made millionaires, earl nightingale, Napoleon Hill, etc etc etc.

I fill my head up with this stuff and after about an hour or so of listening I am ready for action.

works really well actually....and I listen to think and grow rich on audiobook all night every night while I sleep.

    I'm in the zone!
