I could've sworn I saw manny winning it. But I guess Floyd won fair and square.
Floyd just keep on running and its fcking effective
It's expected since Mayweather was the defending champion. IMO the only chance Manny could win is through a knock out.
master defend, that's what I can say
Floyd ran the entire fight, counter punched when he saw an opportunity, and held Pacman whenever he got close. I would rather watch the amateur division of womens fighting. That was the worst fight in boxing history.
so much hype over a not-so-entertaining fight. anyway they both pocketed their 150 million or whatever so i'm sure they're both celebrating now.
This nails it.
Boxing is all about aggression. Mayweather just kept running like he did not want to fight. Fighters like Mayweather become champion and people wonder why boxing is dying.
F*ck yall haters, Floyd is the best technical boxer EVER, period...(3 periods)
If you was looking for a brawl you purchased the wrong fight.
What says boxing is about aggression? Who said this? Boxing just like any sport is more then aggression.
Edit: Did not mean to double post
I watched for a while then closed the channel. Manny had no techniques during that time to get inside Floyd's reach and power, and then get out after scoring without getting much damage in return. Mohd Ali had those skills, and a lot more, in abundance!
Mohd Ali was always the opposite of Manny... Whenever he was put up against stronger and taller men, which was very usually , then he had a definite strategy for every fight! "Dance like the butterfly, sting like the bee!" That could have made Manny the winner but that's what makes the difference between a real top-class champ and an also-ran! I saw Floyd for the first time, and with those few-minutes' impressions, I guess that though being a winner, he isn't anywhere near the real Champ and Peoples's Champ that Ali was during his time. The real excitement that Ali always carried into a fight is definitely a thing of the past! Ali could also take the worst punishments and still deliver those magical punches, and still be able to stay up on his feet. I wondered today if Manny could take a few hard ones like Ali did, and then would've still stayed up... In those few minutes I watched, Floyd wasn't able to deliver a few KO-quality punches though is another story, because I thought he had those few great opportunities early on...
The only way Pacquiao could have won that fight was through a knock out. Mayweather is an amazing fighter (although he's boring to watch). Pacquiao wasted many opportunities to knock the sh*t out of Mayweather.
As others mentioned, Floyd kept running and was beyond the reach of Manny, But what I didn't like is Floyd is way too defensive. Floyd may have won the fight, but Manny won people's heart.
What you are saying is true but people are not going to pay to watch defensive techniques.
Too much technique kills the sport.
Its the same as game of cricket. There are some very good highly technical defensive batsmen who are never going to get out but people do not see cricket to watch someone with a bat defend every single ball. They want to see action, they want to see fours, sixes. This is what attracts people.
If boxers want to play defensive, they can do it inside their home.
Just see both have earned millions..crazy promotions.
Are you having trouble sleeping at night? Well.. I have the solution. Watch a Mayweather fight.
As a amateur fighter (since 2006) I can say Pacman should have won the fight.
May be Floyd went the whole distance without a KO punch early on because the fight was too much hyped up, and lots and lots of money and people were involved.... a 10-minute fight would've been too depressing for those people. . Anyway if he kept running, then he had a better strategy against his opponent and it may have tired Manny more in the process, simply because Manny and his manager wouldn't have thought of meeting a running Floyd! lol They must have thought that the champ would come up all charged up and like a tank, (and when someone does that Goliath act, then he would have little vital openings which a David would use to his benefit), and they could have trained with only that scenario in mind. A running Champ must have surprised Manny's camp a lot! Whatever...
What fight did you watch?
yeah whatever, waited the whole night to watch this over-hyped fight..
