What counts as a view?

Hey guys, noob question here!

I'd like to ask; what counts as a page view?
i mean, if people get to my article through Digg or Stumbleupon, will it count as views?
I know the big money is in upfronts, but i'm not from the US and I have an idea that might get me a couple of bucks on autopilot every day using Stumbleupon. If it succeeds i'll post the method here :)

A "unique IP" (diff. from previous IPs) bringing your article/page up in a browser. Stumble and Digg are rating based though, to get front-paged. There a couple services that claim they can get you front-paged on Digg in the Services section.
 
Yeah that's exactly my idea, getting on the front page of Digg or Stumbleupon - which means getting about 10,000 page views a day, automatically. not that much money for the big guns, but i'll go with 15 bucks a day.
 
Sorry to butt in on your thread. but I just thought of this. On digg your post has its own short url. Now if you place this on alexa booster and on some traffic exchanges, post a few comments on digg. you can drive up your traffic more or less at any speed you like.

Can anybody see any problems with this method. I'd hate to have my site banned by Digg

Hmm.. maybe try it with a test site that you could care less to lose, and hey, if it works... You have your own method that you could market, or totally keep to yourself and exploit.
 
Can i get a proxy and refresh my articles?? And get my Page views up?
