Hello everyone, I hope you're all havin the best holiday season as possible. And, because it is the season of giving, I was wondering if some of you could give me any tips to help an old friend of mine get a little more publicity/sales online. He runs a local tattoo shop that I wandered into this weekend, and he ended up giving me about $300 of tattoo rework for free. So, if I were to use some IM tricks to possibly give his homepage a boost, it'd really be the least I could do.

I know there isn't a whole lot of musician talk around here, but I've really only seen a handful of related tricks. Also, I'd like to just do it anonymously. If say, what I do is responsible for him making a bundle of money, I don't want him to feel any pressure to repay me or anything like that. His music might not extactly be my cup of tea, but the guy has some definite talent. Actually, he was one of my very first bandmate's, but I take no responsibility for the audible 360 he took from our Cannibal Corpse cover tunes. I'd give you all a link to his music, but I'd rather not let him find this thread.

    So what I'm working with:

    • His homepage is on his record label's site. It's a very decent site where you can buy the songs or albums for $1 a song or $5 an album. Three albums totoal, only two being popular at all.
    • His facebook page is established and he's got a fairly strong US/European following from a recent int. tour.
    • He only promotes his shows via facebook
    • I'd say a budget of $100 max and willing to spend time doing things myself
    • His music is not on itunes, soundcloud, or anything besides his homepage and youtube. He's a proud hipster/indie musician and I'm not really sure if he'd go for that.

So what are some easy/affordable tricks to give this guy a little online lovin? His tattoo shop is nice, but it's not gettting the business he'd like, so I'm sure a little unsuspected album sales would make his day. I'd also use the tricks if I ever got my arse up and wrote some music again too.

Thanks guys and happy holidays, wherever you are.

Pick out 2-3 of the best social platforms and go nuts with them. YouTube is a must, then figure out some more. Unless you wanna invest tons of time stick with no more than three. Otherwise you'll just spread yourself way too thin.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
