I'm new to tumblr. So far so good. But, I'm just wondering what exactly triggers being banned? I follow about 200 a day. I like about 1,000 photos a day. And I post photos about 300 times a day. Is this okay? I don't post any links, and I am not in the adult niche.

So basically I'm playing by the Tumblr rules right? Or is there anything else I need to be careful of? What usually leads to people getting banned?

    Hello,

Everything: when you post, when you like, when you reblog, when you log in your blog, you can be banned.

    Why?

Because it's Tumblr, and Tumblr is mad.

It is not "how not to be banned?" but more "how long my blog will last?"

There are few rules which may avoid a ban for a limited time:
    - I follow about 200 a day: good. No more than 200
    - I like about 1,000 photos a day: dangerous, very dangerous. 1,000 is the limit, but it doesn't mean you should do it, mainly if your blog is new. Make 100 likes max
    - And I post photos about 300 times a day. Dangerous too: normally, you are limited to 250 posts a day. Post only 50 posts max.

"I don't post any links, and I am not in the adult niche."

Even if you don't post links, you can be banned. Take a look at the other threads.

200 follows per day doesn't make that much of an impact anyway.
Same thing with the likes. When photos on Tumblr are getting hundreds of notes, your like isn't going to be that noticeable.

    Honestly, you're way too aggressive.

It is okay for a tumblr account to like 1000 posts and post 300 images in a day.
It shows that you're an active member of the site and the site'll never ban you.

posting 300 times a day will get you hit eventually, you will piss off your followers and they will unfollow you or report you.
Make more accounts so you don't have to post that many times in one day on just one account.

i think its not even possible to post 300 times a day with 1 account. they have some limitation ..... so don't go over the 50 a day. which is enough anyway.

The only common denominator I've seen is that the more popular your Tumblr becomes, the more likely you'll be banned. Breaking rules will make the ban happen faster but staying 100% within the rules doesn't guarantee you won't be banned either.

Even partially linking can get you banned because of how strict they are.

I'd say their algorithm gets you shut down after 5,000-20,000 followers are attained and you link regularly or with every tweet.

Mass following takes nearly 6-8 months on some accounts before they catch up to you on average so try to make bulk accounts and adjust well with the rest while they last.

Tumblr staff are catching up to iMacros usage so you'd need a creative bot suite to avoid getting flagged by filters.

If you do last with Tumblr, even at higher (xxx, xxx) follower amounts you will get shut off eventually unless you research early and mix some luck into play.
