What can you get away with monetising (i.e. news clips)?

Just wondering, considering how RayWilliamJohnson manages to use other peoples clips under fair use

I was thinking about using clips from news interviews, would that be ok?

You could only get away with it if you provide enough of your own original content. The majority of the content should be original content that you made. If it is mostly yours, adding news clips MIGHT be ok.
