Typically I sit in front of my pc 12 hours a day and my eyes hurts a lot, so does my head. Do you guys have any tips? Stop working is not an option for me now.

    Thanks in advance, guys

Option 1) Eat some good/healthy food and go to bed!

    Or

Option 2) Man up... and fack up your body for a few $$$. Just make sure the price is worth it... it might come back to bite you in the ass later!

Google f.lux, it`s a great software for protecting your eyes. Also use the 20:20:20 rule (Every 20 minutes, look for 20 seconds at an object that is approx. 20 feet away from you - this is what a doctor recommended me, it helps). There`s also software that helps you obey the 20:20:20 rule, like EyeDefender.

Hey guys I know what you are going through I have lost 80% of my vision and now I need big screens and text, the only way to fix my problem according to the eye specialists is surgery and believe me it is going to cost big bucks!

So my advice is do what I do now is work 2 hours looking at the PC and then you must take 10 minutes off, be warned it is too late for me the damage is done and eye surgery is the only fix!

But my advice is take a 10 minute break every 2 hours when working on the PC...

Why! Because you do not want to have my problems! A ten minute break does help a lot...

Take some vitamins and as much as possible, try to rest your eyes for 15-30 minutes every after 2-3 hours. I know you can't afford to take a long break, but you have to at least rest your eyes for a few minutes to avoid severe headaches. :)

    1) Consult an ophthalmologist, maybe you need to wear glasses, or new ones if you already wear some.

    2) As said above, make sure you keep an healthy living. Eat good food, drink a lot of water, practice a bit of sport (jogging, workouts, whatever your confortable with).

    3) Spending 12h a day in front of a screen is okay, but make sure you take a few breaks: only a five minute break every hour (or 10min every 2h) to go outside, breath some fresh air and look at things that are far away from you (to compensate the fact that your eyes stare at a screen right in front of you the rest of the time) will have a huge positive impact.

Applying only these three can radically change your life :)

Guys seriously stop telling the guy to "man up" that is not the issue here.
We all need to protect our eyesight because when its gone that's it.
The problem is that harmful ultraviolet rays from the computer monitor are bombarding your
eyes, and it causes all kinds of problems including headaches too.

what you need is to buy some computer glasses which prevent UV rays from hitting your eyes.
You can get one from amazon. For example this one here will work well.
    Code:
    http://www.amazon.com/Computer-Glasses-Polycarbonate-Anti-reflective-Protection/dp/B000KZ4KZG
Note# (This is not an affiliate link)

Seriously get it and protect your eyes because it pretty much saved my eyes.
    sheesh.

Use some eyedrops, I keep them right next to my keyboard so I wouldn't forgot.

This is a common problem and you are not the only one with it. Here is how I solved the problem:

    Change your display
    - the most common problem in your case is the monitor
    - get rid of your TN monitor and buy an IPS monitor, there are cheap ones like the Dell u2311h or equivalent, and some expensive ones like the Apple Cinema display.

I bought an IPS monitor, got proper brightness settings and a proper light bulb in the room (strong light which is behind you or above you is the best).

    Blink more often
    - you are focusing to much and you forget to blink. An eye has to blink at least once every 5 seconds, to cleanse and moisten the eye. A dry eye will hurt.

I usually have music in the background and blink with the beat for a few minutes every half an hour.... yeah, sounds strange, but I do that and it helps.

    Wear work glasses
    - if you have negative diopter (things on your monitor are smudgy and blury when you look it from further away), then your eye needs to focus more on your display, and then again unfocuses once you take a look at your table and vice versa, this things give you eye strain and your head starts to hurt.
    - buy those big dorky glasses which can cover the whole view of your monitor, don't buy those little ones, you want work glasses not "getting girls" glasses.

    This is what I do:
I have lots of water, more than 2 ltrs per day.
sit for an hour and take a 15 mins break and move around and comeback.
Don't stare at the monitor for more than 15 mins.

Haven't had a single problem with my eyes till date :)
