What possibilities does instagram have to identify a user?
Location? What else? Is that all?

If you have a 4G connection, what Location will they see?
The datacenter of the mobile internet provider or your location?
Because when i do ip location test with my mobile data plan on, it says im 400km away, in the datacenter of my mobile provider

But why is that so?

Well the IP will always be the Cell Provider and that particular location. Some are closer to your physical location, others are not.
Now if you use the app they can obviously just access GPS (if not deactivated) and know where you are at ...

I will always have gps off + not permit the ig app the usage of my gps.

Well the Cell providers data center is like 4-500 km away from me + many other users are in that data center, so instagram will not be able to identify where the phone really is right?

If you live in germany, they can see all about you, your provider and so your adress and other important and private informations about you.

It does not matter if you turn off the GPS - Instagram uses it anyways - read their terms and you'll find lots of surprising things there :)
It was discussed in depth on other forum.

I can forbid that in the android settings
Permissions of IG App

Well, i even looked on RIPE, the official european IP adress database
Even there they could only identify where the data center is where my provider hosts my ip adress of the 4G connection

Also, GPS alone would not be exact enough to identify single users
Only gps in connection with the ip adress
But when ur having a 4g connection theyre in theory just able to see the location of the datacenter where the ip is hosted on

they can use your phone company to track your mask then GPS mask to mobile.

if they ever get your real IP can even ask provider stright your address depending what you did wrong or activity, yes they can work together to get you if needed .

of course there get csi involved or internet police ...

when you do a mobile lookup it all recorded be carfull , you just told them where you are ...

there send the ig dromes out

phone company

Will buy phones from multiple brands

I will not permit the ig app to acess gps
If they still did After forbidding ig to do so, coders and hackers would have found it already out & it would ve gone public

ask provider stright your address
Will use multiple mobile internet providers & fill out a form to forbid the mobile provider to sell my motion data (only 2-3 providers offer this form)

what you did wrong or activity
course there get csi involved
The police is only allowed to receive that Information after court approves that, after a criminal act. And im fully whitehat :D

if your being good and not doing nothink bad your be ok .

i think changing your ip good idea

Its common for data centers to issue ranges of IPs to certain locations, so if other users in the same IP range have enabled GPS then IG can assume your IP is in a nearby location.

Also, there are other apps, or media which can show your location. For example, if you share your gps with an app with fb tracking code then fb can get your location through that.

owe no .fb dromes and ig dromes QUICK HIDE

he was not joking a pool of IP is addressed to each phone number for data.

to be honest their many apps with built-in GPS anyway.

the police can track you on your phone with there own software to the developer's phone software

Thank you for this valuable Information. Need to do research on this.

Do you know how big these ranges of ips are?
Are they like 50 meter radius? Or 5 kilometres?
Because when more than a thousand people are in an ip range group, it wont be harmful adding 100 ips to it as they cannot identify which accounts are oned of whom, they ll be seperated if the ip range is big enough

your only no by statics of sales from providers, that info not public, the bigger the provider the more range. (( of IP ))

Yeah that s obvious but as long as i fill out the form stated above, the mobile provider will not be allowed to sell that data

It can only give it to the police

Yea but software needs hardware to work :D
If i dont permit ig using my gps they cannot, as i said hackers, coders or blackhatters or android programmers or antivirus workers/programms wouldve found out (ig bypassing the android Permission Regulations) & ig would ve gotten a shitstorm

you can use headless browsers and plugins to protect you .
