I was wondering guys, would product/sales letter brought you into the marketing game? For me it was instantaffiliatevault.com, boy I remember those days, dreaming, thinking that it was easy to make money online. Well Boy was I wrong? So what brought you guys to Marketing online and eventually getting into Blackhat? I got into Blackhat after I was hooked on Marketing and not making results and I was frustrated, even cried some times :D. So...?

My friends in the mailing game back in 2000....i started off even before that trying those "make money while surfing shit" back in the day with spedia, alladvantage and all that....had those auto browsing apps to make it look i was on the pc surfing all day lol

I been all over the place since then but mostly always concentrating in mailing. Recently, i started more with additional stuff, which led me here.

Yahoo Answers, brought me in to IM, I remember that I was extremely bored and all of the sudden I thought of something refreshing and to me that was, How to make money online? after some stumbling around I ended at DP, and after visiting a few money making forums I ended up finally stumbling in to BHW, which now is my favorite forum.

For me it was just one product. I do remember posting ads to some of the scammiest and most bullshit forums on the planet. They were spam fests in there and everyone was selling to everyone which meant hardly anyone was making money. I did however get caught up in a dude's autoresponder that delivered a really powerful message to me one morning. It was at about 2:30 am and I was getting ready to go to work at my Supervisor's job at the DC. It's all in my bio but to make a long story short the guy's name is Steve Wagenheim and the product is the Honest Income Program and that product is the SINGLE most reason why I have been partime for 2 years and fulltime online for a little over a year.

It got me writing articles, which allowed me no out of pocket expenses. When I was writing these articles I started looking around for them. I was writing for a company called MPAM and they were displaying the articles on Adsense sites and promoting affiliate programs. So basically while getting paid for my writing I also learned and research marketing practices, ad placements niche development.

From there I got into PPC, Blogging, Membership Sites, offline mutual funds and future stocks and I actually flipped 8 properties in Coffey County last year.

And to think it all started with an ebook...

I started out biding on jobs at freelancer sites. I then realized that there was so much more potential and more money to be made if just made the programs and sold them myself. So I started looking around on forums and anything i could really find.

I learned a lot of stuff online and how to market products, so I made my site and started marketing. When you find forums like this one, you get so much out of it. Its unreal. The best thing about how I got into it is, my software is made to market. So that was a big step. Now I continue to do this daily and I love it.

What is better than having a job that you like and you make good money?

I started out selling pirated copies of warez on Yahoo Auctions back in '99. I eventually moved to selling info products on eBay from 2000-2004, but never really cleared more than $2000/month, so I figured there's got to be a better way. I'm slowly figuring stuff out ;)

Worked my way thru college as a web designer, got a job around 2001 as a caller for Cory Rudl's coaching program. Took me from coding to marketing.

For me I was surfing the net One year age this Month and came across a sight that offered doing (cough) SURVEYS to make like 2-3 thousand a month filling out simple surveys.I thought hey that sounds real easy even I could do that .Well we all know about the survey thing so I don't need to go any farther with that.

From the let down of the survey thing ,that led me to finding the Rich Jerk site after signing up to that and getting the LOL(cough) FREE web site and paying for the hosting , I some what got involved in the forum there and got hooked on myspace thanks To Ruck getting me going and helping along the way ,I had not a bad run with MS until they had the Major crack down and I lost a shit load of profiles .It really took the wind out a my sale .

Since then I Have gotten involved with way to many So called top secret tactics limited people allowed in BH tactics, Boughten Way to many software programs claiming to be the do all end all LOL ,Spent way To MUCH $$$$$ on Shit I didn't even need , But if I Didn't have it I might miss out on the potential making some money some how some where .

This IM stuff BW or WH is worse then getting addicted to drugs i just can't get enough of it just actually getting to much of it and not applying any of it .It's like I'm searching and searching for just the right thing to set bells and whistles of in my head.

So that brings me here to BHW , Place myself right smack in the middle of a shit load of awsome people that are willing to help one another, post very helpful tactics for free .Now that I have surrounded myself with nothing but opportunities , I have no more excuses but to only better Myself and succeed in one way shape or another.

Thanks Everyone that contributes here Its a great place to be involved in

Well,i can't recall where i exactly started, but i wanted to add one thing: DON't "over dream".You like the lambo (BTW,that's what im gonna be driving very soon ;) ) put it on your wall, and work 20 hours/day...7 days a week,365 days a year. That's all the secret. You gotta have the drive, passion whatever it is,you gotta work at it like an addict (Bill Gates, worked NONSTOP for 7 years..no,not even day offs!and other examples i can't recall)...and I remember when i got my own dream car...boy it felt good ;)

From memory I boght Search Engine Cloaker and started doing research as it wasnt really "plug and play." At every turn I needed to dig deeper to get a handle on what I was doing. And as I dug I found more and more things to research and learn about. Its sort of a combination of fun and torture. You know you will never stop learning and when you do understand something, something else will change and make the other stuff redundant. And all the way along are bloody forums ( like this one :) ) that give both an opportunity to learn and be distracted all at the same time.

Having a clear "definite purpose" and the ability to remain focused on that goal is the only way to ensure that you will succeed. Otherwise all the distractions will derail you.

    Now what was the question...

You mention Gates working tons of hours. However, how long did the guy from Youtube(one bigger example) take to make his 1.6 odd billion? This wasn't too long ago either. My message from this, long hours yes does pay definitely. However being highly creative and innovative can pay even greater, in shorter time. After all, we are all aiming for ROI right? Also as for Gates I believe he was already a daddy's boy. He had the massive financial backup from his own dad from the start. But yeah, he definitely did develop it dramatically in that sense. He had a vision. So respect to him regardless.

So which lambo will you be driving there bud? :)

I watched my Dad make a living like this for a long time. He got his start from the rich jerk ebook when it first came around. Then I jumped in about a year ago.
