What best 5-10 link building methods would you recommend?

Organic backlinks are best, at least according to the Google webmaster blog. If you take time to read their blog, you'll see they encourage you to publish highest quality content which will attract backlinks from other bloggers/site owners who are linking to you as a service to their own readers.

I wouldn't recommend blog comments anymore. Almost all of my sites that had part of he links from blog comments got hit during latest Google updates. Social marketing is the way to go these days. And I am not just talking about the damn Facebook. There are countless opportunities.

why you wouldn't recommend blog comment, i think that's also works well, at least i think.

for social marketing, what are your suggestions other than Facebook?

Blog commenting still works. Link diversity is the key in linkbuilding.

In my case:

Forum posts
Press Release
Web 2.0
Article Submission
Bookmarking
A bit of blog commenting
A bit of RSS submission
Very few directory submission to high PR sites

I agree, and above you all you may also try links from private blog networks with low OBL.

REVALENT Blog commenting is also useful to increase your site rank...

I use niche relevant one way links from sites with good DA and PR. To mix that I use a XRumer package to make some profile links, seems to work well.

Use a CSS dynamic menu instead of a Javascript driven menu.
Although Google says it's getting better at reading Javascript, that doesn't mean the other search engines are.
A CSS dynamic menu uses lists in the creation of them. All the coding and links within the menu is within the actual web page, unlike some Javascript driven dynamic menus.

With a CSS dynamic menu, you add search engine optimization, accessibility and usability by having the coding right in the page for screen readers and non graphical browser users plus the search bots will see the links
too!

Here is my method at the moment, with my bigger sites that I update all the time I use unique content and high quality manual links all done by myself. Then with my micro sites 1 - 3 pages, I spam the fk out of them, they come to the top and when they get penalized, I start all over again.

Thanks for sharing.

Here it is - I have killed some major niches with this and did the same with clients, etc:

1. Contextual Linking (Guests posts, resource pages)
2. Directory submissions (country specific)
3. Press release (prweb is actually nearly worth the investment *BS*)
4. Article Submissions (ezine, etc just not new and low quality)
5. Web 2.0's (weebly style)
6. Blog Comments (MUST be relevant - be smart)
7. Video (be smart where you upload them)
