So who else hates to get that message that they already have too much content on this subject and do not accept yours because it is not unique enough in scope or whatever....

I figured we could share some topics NOT to write on anymore.

One topic I know of is:

Weight loss

Feel free to share any you know of too!

That's not really true...I have only written about 5 or 6 articles for pay...but 3 of them were weight loss related, and all got published, and I got paid.

One that didnt get published: How to care for your pomeranian

All of the major niches including weight loss can still be written on OP, the main thing is that you can't write/rewrite articles based on the general topic/keywords of "weight loss" and expect that there aren't already dozens of articles at AC on that general term. You have to narrow your topics/keywords down and write on specific aspects of the weight loss niche.

For example:

"How to Lose Weight in 10 Easy Steps" = bad

"How to Trim Fat From Your Thighs After Pregnancy" = good

Check your competition levels at AC or in Google like this... site: associatedcontent.com "keywords here"

Some of the topics that don't do well or get accepted are comedy/humor pieces, video game/movie reviews (unless they're pre-release), anything too sexual in nature, hate or racism etc.

Here's my question:

A lot of people say that product reviews do well. But when I check on various products, I find that they've already been done. It's rare to find one that has 0 returns.

Does AC pay for a second or third review of the same product or do you need to be the first?

yes they pay upfronts for reviews of the same product. just come up with your own unique title.

Weight loss not getting approved? In America? Wow! That is quite shocking...

How's that? An obesity epidemic clearly means saturation as far as conversation about weight loss goes.
