I think it's less than a month old, but the search results for keywords and phrases I put in pulled in way more results than Google. I even put in my first and last name just to see what happened and I'm on the first page. My name is very common. What are your thoughts on Microsoft's new Bing search engine?

bing is actually coming up....it's the engine on some popular search networks. google does dominate in the end, but I've seen up to 20% of traffic come from bing to certain blogs.

as far as i can tell it is an improved version of live.com. there are a number of articles questioning their "quality rating" used partially to determine position on SERPs.
So far, I like it and my sites are doing well with it. Its popularity is boosted too by IE8 pushing to use it as the default search provider.

It's worth the minimal effort to ensure front page rankings early in the game. I've seen an increasing amount of traffic on my sites coming from Bing. It seems to me, if you can rank in Google, you can rank in Bing no problem.

Bing does not like any of my sites, and I don't like bing.

I really hat those god damn commercials too.

My sites are ranking way better on Bing than on Google. I have pages that Google puts in the 8-10 position and they are number 1 or 2 on Bing. Can't complain about that. Another thing is that my PPC traffic that comes from Microsoft converts at a higher percentage than Google.

IMO bing works well for the less computer literate people. These are the people who don't change their homepage and continue using ie that came on their computer. This has some advantages and disadvantages you just have to figure out how to market to them properly.

I want bing to become more popular but there is no chance of this. All my blackhat sites rank well in bing. Very few of them make it through google's linkspam filters. Life would be easier if bing was number 1.

Basically, it's just another Yahoo. Easier to rank but no traffic.

To be completely accurate, as of May 2009 Google has 81.5% market share of worldwide search but your point is a good one. As a consumer I love Google. As a customer of Adwords I think they are probably the worst company in the world to deal with. Their arrogance and lack of customer service is truly astounding.

Some people say "its better to be first on the village than last in the city"... I just verified my site with Bing and started to receive traffic as i'm on the first two places. The verification gave me a page 1(rank 2-3) placement after two days in my good keyword without doing anything. So i guess to appear somewhere is good anyway...

Well, 2% of something beats the hell out of 81.5% of nothing. Bing really likes my sites. Google detests them.
