What are 'whois' and 'statistics' sites? Whats the point submitting to them?
I understand it might be for 'backlinks' purpose, if so, whats the value in these backlinks compare to regular 'blog commenting' backlinks etc.

    Can someone please explain? Thanks

What everyone else said. I've found them to be a waste of time.

    Thanks guys.

So whats the difference between 'pinging' and submitting to whois/statistics then?

Either way, wouldnt that make things seem a little 'un-natural'?

Pinging basically sends a message to search engines to come check the site for new content.

Whois just tracks websites and tend to be crawled regularly which people will say helps to get your site crawled faster.

I've never really had problems with it being unnatural for either.

If you submit 200+ and ping each you can get indexed super fast. there are online tools for this though.

There is no need to submit your website to WHOIS sites to get them indexed. Write just ONE article on Ezinearticles after site creation and Google will crawl that link and thus your website. Or, make a webmaster tools account and add your site in there, then it will be crawled immediately. Made a site, it was already indexed less than 24 hours later.

I use the whois as a fast indexing process. It is quick and painless.

What i would recommand is that you don't spoil them all in the first place.

Sometimes, you want google to come back ASAP on your website to take changes into consideration, so if you have some spare whois you didn't send to, it becomes quite useful.

Also, another advantage to use them, is that you'll more likely take the whole first page under your domain name quickly.

Can you please elaborate a little?
What you mean the 'whole first page'?
