I gave this thread a look, but it's almost 10 years old now so I'm sort of questioning it's validity. Essentially the method involves getting Amazon prime free trials, buying low on Amazon, and selling high on eBay.

I feel like it could work, but with everyone using Chinese suppliers, they have way higher margins. But I get paid in amazon gift cards for freelancing, and there are tons of ways to get gift cards for cheaper than 1:1 -- buying them off of others, buying them for crypto on websites like Paxful, farming beer money apps with phone farms, etc. So I'm wondering, would this still work, and are the margins significant enough? I think a good niche could be jewelry or accessories.

If you already have discounted gift cards, this could increase your margins and be worth testing, especially for niche items like jewellery with a higher perceived value.

If there is a difference in the price of something between the two platforms, go for it! I had the most luck on Aliexpress. Even if I put in the listings that the items were located in USA, I dropshipped dozens of items from China and nobody ever complained, they just want the items.

I think it's worth it if you can find price discrepancies, but the competition is intense. Fight fight fight!

This is a great method for market research purposes.

Deffo be sure to check mark the item as a gift so it doesn't come with a receipt.

Say you want to sell pink dildos but you don't know if that type of pink dildo will sell.

Well you can go on Amazon and look for a prime pink dildo and "drop ship" to eBay.

Reviews on Amazon are a good starting data point though.

I'd look to break even or earn a very slight profit as a safety net in case of any unforeseen fees.

So if it costs £9.99 with prime on Amazon I'd sell it for £11.99 with 10% Promoted Ad listing just to see what sort of impressions clicks and sales I get in a relatively fast time span.

Example:

Obviously you can increase the ad percentage for faster results but that's up to you.

If it sells as fast as @xReminisce nudes then that's a huge indicator that it'll sell on your own funnel or store front.

At this point you'd look into buying from China at wholesale prices. (A whole different topic.) So you can keep selling at 11.99 but get them from China for say £1.00. ;)

If you sell alot on eBay but you don't get any sales on your own funnel or store then something is wrong with your offer.

I.e people may not trust your funnel so have extra guarantees and trust badges.

You know for a fact with the data from Amazon reviews and eBay sales that the product sells so it's not the product itself it'll be how good your offer is.

(Goes without saying, but also your ad targeting. If you're targeting 80 year old granny's and you're selling pink dildos, I doubt you'd sell many.)

Imagine a guarantee like this:

"Our Hot Horny Heat GUARANTEE.

Pink Dildo Guaranteed To Arrive Tomorrow Or Double Your Money Back."

Doesn't work anymore but it could still work depending on the product but most of the time they will have the same price for products
