More I mingle with people at work, more I get to understand there are lots of unwritten rules that applies in our daily lives. Wondering is it just me who is over thinking?

Such as at my full-time day job:
    • No one cares how busy you are
    • Everyone thinks themselves first and others come second
    • There is always rumors and if you are not hearing them, it's probably about you

Do you guys have a semilar observation? care the share some of them?

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

If you're a freelancer you're required to reply to an email within 2 hours, otherwise your phone will ring.

If you don't answer the phone, you'll get another email from the same client within the same 24 hour timeframe, repeating what the first email said, only it will have additional exclamations marks!!!!

If you go off the radar for more than 48 hours you're client will think you've died, and then they'll start phoning your associates, because its absolutely "URGENT!!!" that they speak to you.

In other words, it sucks having clients :D

The unspoken thing is that you open a door not for the women you are opening the door for, but for the people watching to be pleased.

Yeah, that's called social etiquette, and there are a lot of zany rules associated with it. Here are some that I've learnt the hard way over the years:
    • If someone sends you a text message, text them back within 10 minutes, otherwise you're "ignoring them" (Then they do this weird thing where they take twice as long to message you back on purpose).
    • Pretend to be interested in someone's boring story, otherwise you'll come across as "rude".
    • Laugh at someone's lame joke, otherwise you're "rude" and you don't have a sense of humour.
    • Don't add people you've just met on Facebook unless you ask them first, otherwise you're a "stalker".
    • If a man or woman is wearing a shirt with words on or near the chest area, DON'T READ IT. It's a trap!
    • If you're taking photos, put your camera down when people knowingly walk into the frame, otherwise you're "violating their rights".
    • Don't look tired during the day, even if you work during the night, otherwise you're "lazy".
As ridiculous as some of those are, I'm just glad I'm not living in the Elizabethan era. I would've most certainly been ostracised or killed in a duel.
