A question for those of you who have their own whitehat SEO companies. What are the top 5 or 10 industries or trades that have bought SEO from you? I know doctors, lawyers and dentists are probably among the top and possibly contractors?

There are so many possible clients. Top clients are obviously Fortune 500 companies for the larger SEO outfits. For smaller operations like mine, I have a wide range of businesses because I do graphic design and video production as well so I can get additional business offering any of those 3 services.

You forgot car dealerships, real estate, and tourist stuff (if you live in a vacation area).

Any business where a single customer is worth hundreds or thousands in profit is a good candidate for SEO.

Or, if the people searching for them are going to look online first. That's why vacation activities are HUGE seo opportunities since people search "fun stuff to do in miami" or things like that.

I would say it is less niche sites would be in higher demand because organic SEO would be tougher. Car dealerships, real estate, etc pop into mind.

Doesn't matter... anyone with a website is a potential SEO client.

    Think about it this way:

Mr. John owns a web design firm... they want more business. They create a website to reach out more and more people. What they're doing is pay $2-3 per click using adwords... what if you could offer them some kind of magic that would bring them free targeted traffic?

Now, John's friend, Mike, runs a jewelry store. Mike wants more and more customers which obviously means more money. Just like John, he's spending 1-2 bucks for every singe visitor. He would definitely love that same traffic for free... wouldn't he?

All in all, SEO services can be sold to ANYONE in ANY INDUSTRY provided they run a website... Heck, even if they don't have a website, you could create them a nice looking one for a few hundred dollars.
