What are the risks involved in uploading copyright material on youtube ?

I see a lot of people doing it on youtube these days. I am now thinking of making a few websites & driving traffic from youtube using copyright material like music videos, live shows, episodes, trailers etc. But before I do so, I wanted to find out what is the worst possible risk I face if I upload lots (50-100) of such videos everyday ?

Also, in case I am under the scanner, what guarantee do I have that my VPN provider (purevpn) or my web host won't give out my personal information like my ip, my billing address etc to the copyright owners ? Can someone suggest webhosts & vpn/proxy services that can safely be used for something like this ?
Oh and btw I live in Asia. Does that reduce the risk factor ?

nothing will happen except your videos will be removed from youtube or accounts get banned.

so the process is -> upload -> milk it till you get account banned/video deleted -> upload again :)

It seems they dont even bother removing most of the copyrighted stuff... There is no risk of uploading copyrighted stuff, thats youtube's problem, not yours.
 
Thanks for the answers guys. But are there still any trustworthy hosting or vpn services that can be used for BH methods ? I read someone here saying something about using only panama host or something like that for all his BH methods.
 
Yeah YT don't seem to care unless the copyright holder says something. There are tons of copyrighted stuff being downloaded and re uploaded without permission.

They have users who constantly upload full movies and still their accounts are active.
 
Absolute worst that can happen --> your youtube account gets banned
What is likely to happen --> your video gets taken down

No need to sweat it, just keep going until they ban you, rinse, repeat.
 
Ok guys I did a little bit of reading about this on google & I am going to summarize it here for anyone else who might be looking for more information on this.

Its very obvious that youtube is not really hunting down people who upload copyright material (I guess they realize that is what gets them the most traffic). Yes they do remove videos & terminate accounts but all that is just an eyewash so the copyright owners can keep their mouths shut.

BUT, if for whatever reason a copyright owner decides to hunt you down, then there is no escaping. I am sure proxy & VPN servers keep logs & if contacted by legal authorities they will give out your information without any hesitation (they'll want to save their ass not yours)

I've read about the pros & cons of using TOR. Correct me If I am wrong but it just makes the tracing process a little difficult because of chaining. Besides, Torbutton blocks browser plugins such as Java, Flash, ActiveX, RealPlayer, Quicktime, Adobe's PDF plugin, and others by default as they can be manipulated into revealing your IP address. Which means that Youtube is disabled. If you really need your Youtube, you can reconfigure Torbutton to allow it.

Also, I think being outside of the US doesn't actually have any advantages. Copyright laws are getting more & more strict everywhere & I am sure most governments do not tolerate their citizens breaching laws of other countries. Yes you can be absolutely safe at least for the time being if you are in N.Korea I guess - lol

If you really decide to do this, I think its not risky because you are definitely not the only one uploading. Thousands of users upload copyright material everyday. But it still is illegal.

Am I going to do it ? I really don't think so. I like investing time on things that yield long term results & this is definitely not long term. I'd rather do some good SEO :)
 
Also, it doesn't matter how well you hide your ip when it comes to law suits, criminal charges, they most likely won't even go that route, they will follow the money, if you are making serious money (10k+), then they will persue you, if you aren't, then you aren't worth their time except to possibly make an example out of you.
 
yes they delete the audio line of the video and if you upload too much your account will get banned
 
You won't get sued if that's what you're afraid of. The worst thing that can happen is that they ban your account.

Sure they can follow your affiliate, but then when it comes to getting your ip address to prove it, what are they gonna say?
"We know he is making money off of this video, but we do not have any way of connecting it back to his computer".
Even if you posted it from your IP address, you can still deny it.

I wouldn't be this worried about it at all.

If you're worried about uploading other peoples copyright material, why not just make your own videos?
You could make a killing if you get your YT keywords straight, and a good niche.
I was making 125$ on an easily expandable niche - with my own YT video uploads. Of course, all my videos got banned... because I posted 230 videos from my own IP address, and they all reeked of spam.
Hmm... 460 videos = 250$ / day?

Tor is a free solution to cover your ass.
If any feds knock on your door, just remember to tell them to hit the road because someone trojanned you ... with a RAT.

I had a video that contained Pink playing in the background while a narrator was speaking over the song.. YT emailed me saying that the song was property of blah.. blah... but they didn't take my video down, instead they placed their advertisement on that page..

so maybe you can narrate over the copyrighted video you want to upload..

Just upload the videos, milk it, and if your acc gets banned/video gets removed, upload it again but rename it something different. And if your scared of getting into trouble, just change your IP after you do it and don't log back into that acc lol.

Lol thats it? I download music, software, games, and movies off of the internet... And i haven't had any problems... And even if i do.. I won't admit to it :)

Tor does a lot more than just chaining... I suggest you look into how it works, but for now I'll give the short version which is that it is (in theory) nearly impossible to trace a request done via tor. In reality of course there are many different ways it can theoretically be done, but practically speaking you should be fine.
