    Hi,

Other than PBNs, what are the other methods that you used to built awareness of your products?

I am creating my own brand. I will be designing my own products, print them onto items such as posters, books, diaries, mugs, etc and will be selling them.

The target audience is both children and adults (I have both design range for both of them)

SEO itself won't sell by itself, when I'm a unrecognised startup brand. What are the other link building methods that you will do to create awareness among the locals? (I do not have a huge budget so it needs to be cost saving)

Here are some i thought up of:

    - Emailing local influencers but that will involve paying them to endorse and put it up on my blog.
    - Paying for radio ads (Which is gonna be costly and out of budget at the moment)
    - Giving out speeches at school and giving free products to children to generate attention (Not sure if this will cost for the speech and the giving out part by masses is going to cost me a bomb)
    - Giving out free samples to magazines that will hopefully display a photo of my product in the magazine for free, or not.
    - Paying for FB ads but this is SUPER COSTLY.

My budget is $800 / month for advertising.

Is there any cost saving methods that you guys can help give tips of?

Try finding instagram influencers in your niche

Mommy bloggers are the first group of influencers that come to mind

Send them free samples. Ask them to review.

You're up against some big players pumping huge amounts of $$$ in.

Here are some of the strategies my company are using:

Influencer marketing: Collaborating with bloggers and paying for them to review your products to their products.
Facebook Ads: Only Video though - (Facebook loves videos - very low cost per click too)
Instagram: Daily photos of the products in cool places (No advertising on instagram - it is too expensive atm)
    Adwords: (wouldn't recommend too expensive)
Newsletters/Newspaper: (small brand awareness, but not a very good ROI)
    Radio: Read above

If you are just starting out I would suggest:
Instagram (iPhone can actually take good photos now - you just need good lighting)
Facebook video ad - Chuck some $$$ at it and see if it works.
Friends & family - Give your products out to friends and family to try, and ask them to share on their facebook pages.
Sending your products to influencers or paying for a review or post

$800 isn't much, but find something that works and scale it up.

OP one best technique is find bloggers in your niche and pay them to post a review about your product. Plus if they have subscribers, ask them to send promotional email and offer them % of sales.

I will be renting a shop which is 9k / month and that itself is advertisement already.

I think i will go with the Facebook adverts and the free photos on Instagram as well as the influencers. Really sounds like a lot of hard work!
