What are the main functionality differences between a VPN and a Proxy?
What is a good VPN and a good Proxy?

Using a Vpn is simple enough but Proxies seem to be more complicated? Where can residential proxies be found and are they safe to use?

New to this so any actual real knowledge shared on this topic would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

If you want to be a good crimi nal like us, having both in your toolbox is crucial.

Long story short

Proxy -> sending your data to middleman who then sends it on your behalf.

VPN -> you are sending it yourself, but you are wearing all sorts of protection stuff (hides your real ip, possible encryption etc), to make yourself much harder to identify.

both have their use cases, not 1 is better than the other.

Yes, wearing protection is crucial. Especially with more experienced milfs.

VPN and proxies are kind of similar in working, both are bridges between your IP and destination IP (website). The difference is that VPN offers more security by encryption while proxies dont. The best VPN is the one that doesn't store user logs while the best proxy is mobile proxy.

The main difference between a VPN and a Proxy is that a VPN encrypts all your internet traffic, while a Proxy only reroutes it. A good VPN option is ExpressVPN, and a good Proxy service is ProxyMesh. Using a VPN is easier than using a Proxy, as it usually involves just installing an app. Residential proxies can be found online on websites like Luminati or Smartproxy. They are generally safe to use, but it's essential to choose a trustworthy provider.

Proxies are not necessarily more complicated, but there are not so common, most people use VPNs because it's more suitable to their needs
Here on BHW, where most people want to use them to create accounts, proxies are more relevant

A vpn hides your entire internet activity. While proxy only hides your IP for specific apps or websites.

From a marketing point of view, every website can tell that you're using a VPN and will most likely treat you much different than a normal user. A good residential proxy avoids all of that and you seem like a completely normal user

Basically, for acc/users creation proxies seem to be the way to go. That's the biggest takeway I got.
Thank y'all for your input. It did answer my questions.

The key difference is how they operate and what they protect.
A VPN encrypts all your internet traffic and routes it through a secure server changing your IP at the system level. It's simple to use and great for privacy, bypassing geo-blocks, or securing public Wi-Fi. One connection, one IP.
A proxy, on the other hand, only applies to specific applications or browsers. It doesn’t encrypt your traffic, but it gives you far more granular control for example, you can assign a different proxy IP to each browser session or bot. That’s why proxies are more technical, but also more flexible and powerful in automation, scraping, SEO, account farming, etc.
As for residential proxies, you can find them on specialized marketplaces. Just be careful cheap or shady sources often resell IPs from infected devices or reused pools. If you're looking for safety and quality, mobile proxies are even better they're real IPs from actual mobile carriers and have high trust scores across platforms like Google, Reddit, Telegram, etc.
If you're new to all this, start with your use-case: if it’s general privacy, a VPN works. If you’re automating or scaling actions across different platforms, proxies especially mobile are the tool for the job.
